We are currently seeking a results-driven and detail-oriented purchasing team member with experience in supply chain management and inventory procurement. Job Summary The Purchasing Agent is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing inventory and services (freight) required by the company to meet customer demand and in support of overall business objectives. Key Responsibilities • Develop and execute the overall procurement strategy aligned with company goals, • By analyzing inventory levels, customer orders and forecasted demand, prepare and issue purchase orders (POs) and ensure proper approval workflows, • Review and execute appropriate prices, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers and/or freight carriers, • Track orders and ensure timely delivery of materials, • Resolve supplier issues, shortages, and discrepancies, • Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation, • Prepare reports on purchases, costs, and supplier performance to assist management in making business decisions, • Analyze market trends and pricing to achieve cost savings, • Collaborate with warehouse, accounting, sales, and other departments as needed Required Skills & Qualifications Education: • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, Finance, or a related field (preferred), • High school diploma or equivalent with significant experience also considered Experience and Technical Skills: • 3–10+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or buying, • Experience with ERP systems (Epicor, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.) is highly desirable, • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel – pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.) Key Competencies: • Analytical mindset with strong math and forecasting abilities, • Excellent communication (written and verbal) in the English language, • Attention to detail and high accuracy, • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, • Ethical judgment and integrity, • Problem-solving and decision-making skills This position is full-time, in office, Monday-Friday / 8am-5pm with a one-hour lunch break.
