Job Description Job Summary The Small Engine Mechanic will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of landscaping and construction equipment, including two-stroke and four-stroke engines, compact equipment, and handheld tools. Key Responsibilities: · Inspect, diagnose, and repair small engines, including lawnmowers, chainsaws, trimmers, blowers, generators, and snow blowers. · Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, air filter replacements, carburetor adjustments, and spark plug installations. · Troubleshoot electrical, fuel, and mechanical systems to ensure optimal equipment performance. · Maintain service records and track completed repairs using internal systems. · Order necessary parts and ensure inventory is maintained for common repairs. · Communicate clearly with supervisors and operators about equipment status and timelines. · Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. · Assist in seasonal equipment prep and winterization. Qualifications · High school diploma or equivalent; trade school or technical certification preferred. · Minimum of 2 years' experience repairing small engines or related mechanical work. · Strong knowledge of gas-powered and diesel-powered small engines, hydraulic systems, and two- and four-cycle engines. · Ability to read and interpret schematics and service manuals. · Valid driver's license with clean driving record. · Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in various weather conditions. Preferred Skills · Experience with landscaping or construction equipment. · Welding and fabrication skills a plus. · Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus. · OSHA 10/30 certification preferred, or willingness to obtain. Schedule & Compensation • Full-time position | Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, • Pay: $24-32 hourly (Depending experience, certifications, and licensing)
