In this position we are looking for a compassionate and energetic registered nurse for our busy practice to deliver exceptional patient care to our patients. Roles & Responsibilities: · Assist physicians with procedures, BP, Glucometer · Drawing up drugs for injections · Drawing up drugs for Endophthalmitis – Prepare antibiotics for intravitreal injection · Complete lab requisitions; call lab for specimen pick up if needed; Follow up on all labs. · Maintain, verify and log all inventory of all drugs · Call patients after 1st time injections · Prepare retrobulbar and subconj anesthesia · Checking expiration dates & stock levels of all drugs · Performing FA/ICG injections and monitor signs/symptoms of adverse reactions · Triage nursing calls through the on call system and messages from staff · Completing Disability forms/DMV forms/all excuse letters-school/work/gym. · Complete referral forms for patients (Forsee/Helen Keller/Lighthouse). · Monitor Emergency Kit, Spill kit & Endophthalmitis kit inventories and expiration dates · Monitor refrigerator temperatures; document them in the log book · Coordinating appointments and necessary paperwork for in office treatments · E-prescribing all medications · Make sure all rooms are shut down and closed at the end of the day – equipment cleaned, turned off and covered · Counsel pre-op patients regarding procedure and medications · Write out the pre-op drop instructions · Review medical history and medications with the patients On the job training will be provided REQUIRED: · Varied Shifts 4x10 Monday- Saturday - Saturday will be a required day. · Must have NYS License- RN Full time position includes benefits: health insurance, optional dental insurance, Pet insurance, paid time off, 401k

THE OPPORTUNITY AT HAND The RN is responsible for providing exemplary patient care alongside our Physicians as we treat cataracts, glaucoma, diseases of the cornea, and perform laser vision correction surgeries. You’ll exercise good clinical judgement during Pre-Op/Post Op care and ensure all policies and procedures are being followed. You’ll manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced PACU and OR while exhibiting sound judgement and problem-solving skills.
