Minimum Qualifications: • Current and valid Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) license in the state of New York., • Completion of an accredited dental hygiene program., • CPR certification., • Experience in pediatric dentistry or working with special needs children., • Additional certifications such as Local Anesthesia or Nitrous Oxide administration., • Familiarity with electronic dental records (EDR) systems., • Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on child-friendly communication., • Perform thorough dental cleanings and prophylaxis on pediatric patients, including scaling and polishing teeth., • Apply fluoride treatments and dental sealants to prevent tooth decay in children., • Conduct oral health assessments and document patient histories accurately., • Educate patients and their families on effective oral hygiene techniques and dietary recommendations., • Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures as needed, ensuring patient comfort and safety., • Maintain sterilization and infection control protocols in compliance with regulatory standards., • Manage patient records and schedule follow-up appointments to support continuity of care. The Registered Dental Hygienist utilizes clinical skills daily to perform dental cleanings, apply preventive treatments, and conduct oral health assessments, ensuring high standards of patient care.
