Job Description Junior Associate – Health Law Practice Location: New York, NY or Washington, DC Type: Full-Time, Hybrid Salary Range: $225,000 – $260,000 base + bonus Experience Level: 1–3 years post-law school ONLY About the Opportunity Our client, an Am Law 100 firm, is seeking a Junior Associate with 1–3 years of experience to join its Health Law Practice. This role supports national and regional health plan clients, focusing on contracting relationships with pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs) and other vendors, while also contributing to healthcare M&A transactions. This is an excellent opportunity for a junior attorney with strong commercial contracting or M&A experience who wants to build a career in healthcare law. What You’ll Do • Draft, review, and negotiate service agreements, PBM contracts, vendor arrangements, and M&A agreements, • Assist in contract lifecycle management, including issue spotting, preparing summaries, and tracking obligations, • Conduct research on payor regulations, PBM practices, and federal/state compliance matters, summarizing guidance from CMS and state agencies, • Support responses to audits and regulatory inquiries, • Contribute to M&A transactions by performing due diligence, preparing and negotiating transaction documents, and managing healthcare-related deal components, • Collaborate with partners, clients, co-counsel, and opposing counsel on contract workflows and transactional matters What You Bring • JD or LLM from an ABA-accredited law school, • Admission (or eligibility for admission) to the District of Columbia or New York Bar, • 1–3 years of transactional or litigation experience (ONLY), preferably in healthcare, • Strong drafting, research, and analytical skills, • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the professionalism to engage with sophisticated clients, • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a collaborative team environment Preferred: • Experience in healthcare transactional matters, • Familiarity with healthcare regulatory frameworks, including the Anti-Kickback Statute, Stark Law, corporate practice of medicine restrictions, CON, and licensure requirements
