This is an exceptional opportunity for an attorney with a passion for litigation and a keen interest in the medical malpractice defense field. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a caseload from start to finish, collaborating with partners on case strategy, and working closely with expert witnesses. This role requires excellent writing and advocacy skills, a high level of attention to detail, and the ability to handle a high volume of billable hours. Responsibilities: • Manage a diverse caseload of medical malpractice defense cases, litigation matters., • Draft, review, and argue motions, pleadings, and discovery documents., • Collaborate closely with partners and other team members to develop and implement case strategy., • Consistently meet a billable hour requirement of 1950 hours per year/162.5 per month., • Cover depositions, mediations, and court appearances., • Conduct telephone calls with expert witnesses, clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel., • Provide comprehensive legal assistance and advice to clients., • Stay updated on recent changes in laws and regulations related to medical malpractice defense., • Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school., • A minimum of 3 years of experience as an attorney, specifically in medical malpractice defense., • Active member in good standing with the State Bar., • Demonstrated experience in drafting pleadings, discovery documents, and other legal documents., • Exceptional writing and advocacy skills., • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with a team on case strategy., • Experience in covering depositions and conducting telephone calls with expert witnesses., • Ability to consistently meet a high billable hour requirement., • Familiarity with legal software and Microsoft Office Suite., • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills., • Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work model., • High level of professionalism, integrity, and ethical standards.
