Responsibilities: • Assisting the physician with basic patient care and medical procedures within the Medical Assistant (MA) scope of practice, which may include but is not limited to rapid strep, UA, rapid flu A&B, rapid COVID, and procedure setups, etc., • Obtaining and recording patient medical histories, vitals, test results, and other information for medical records while maintaining strict confidentiality., • Preparing exam rooms for clinical examinations and assisting practitioners with medical procedures and other patient care., • Ensuring compliance with all health care regulations, including HIPAA., • Ensuring the site is fully stocked with supplies, • Providing compassionate care to our patients, • Preparing and administering medications for patients as directed by physicians., • Front Desk Duties, • Schedule patient appointments accurately using medical scheduling software., • Verify patient insurance information and collect copayments-, • Answer phone calls, emails, and inquiries promptly and assist as needed, • Coordinate with medical staff to ensure efficient patient flow, • High school diploma or equivalent, • Computer proficiency, • Excellent oral and written communication skills, • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, • Display a positive attitude, a high level of energy, and a commitment to providing excellent customer service

    Front Desk Receptionist – Spanish Clinic (Mineola Med) Position Type: Full-Time / Part-Time Location: Mineola, NY Reports To: Office Manager / Clinic Administrator Position Summary The Front Desk Receptionist is the first point of contact for patients at the Spanish Clinic at Mineola Med. This role is responsible for providing excellent customer service, performing administrative duties, and supporting clinical staff. Fluency in both Spanish and English is required to effectively communicate with a diverse patient population. Key Responsibilities Patient Interaction & Customer Service Greet patients warmly and professionally as they arrive. Check patients in and out, ensuring demographic information is accurate and updated. Provide assistance, directions, and general information in both English and Spanish. Answer phone calls, return messages, and schedule appointments. Handle patient inquiries and escalate clinical questions to appropriate staff. Administrative Duties Verify insurance information, eligibility, and documentation. Collect co-pays, outstanding balances, and process payments. Maintain organized patient records (electronic and paper). Prepare daily schedules, appointment lists, and reports. Ensure the front desk area is clean, organized, and welcoming. Coordination & Support Communicate effectively with medical assistants, providers, and office staff. Assist with pre-visit paperwork, consent forms, and referrals. Support workflow to ensure timely patient movement throughout the clinic. Follow HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times. Required Qualifications Bilingual: Fluent in Spanish and English (spoken and written). High school diploma or equivalent; medical office experience preferred. Strong customer service and communication skills. Basic computer proficiency (EHR systems, scheduling software, email). Ability to multitask in a fast-paced medical environment. Professional, compassionate, and patient-focused demeanor. Preferred Qualifications Experience in a medical or healthcare front desk role. Knowledge of insurance plans (Medicaid, Medicare, commercial). Familiarity with EHR systems such as eClinicalWorks, Epic, or similar. Work Environment Outpatient clinic setting. Frequent interaction with patients and clinical staff. Requires ability to sit, stand, and perform administrative tasks for extended periods.
