Job Description POSITION: Transportation Compliance Coordinator LOCATION: Long Island, New York REPORTS TO: Compliance & Risk Officer STATUS: Full-Time – Normal Business Hours Summary The Transportation Compliance Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the company’s full compliance with TSA, DOT, FMCSA, and related federal, state, and local regulations that govern our transportation and logistics operations. This position supports business objectives by managing security and safety programs, leading compliance initiatives, and partnering with operations leadership to reduce risk and protect company assets, employees, and customers. Essential Duties & Responsibilities • Ensure compliance with all IACSSP, CCSF, SSPAC, Fire Safety, FMCSA, TSA, and DOT rules and regulations applicable to company operations., • Maintain, update, and audit all security and compliance programs, manuals, and records in accordance with regulatory requirements and company standards., • Oversee implementation and ongoing maintenance of TSA security program requirements, including but not limited to IACSSP, CCSSSP, and SSPAC., • Respond to inquiries for previous employment verification and other regulatory background checks as required., • Enhance the company’s positive image and provide exceptional customer service to associates, customers, visitors, and regulatory officials., • Ensure strict adherence to applicable federal, state, and local laws and all company policies, procedures, and code of conduct., • Greet and assist visitors, vendors, and employees in a professional manner while maintaining high standards of presentation, confidentiality, and security., • Develop and recommend new procedures and approaches to safety and loss prevention based on reports of incidents, accidents, audits, and other relevant information., • Implement security and safety improvements that protect company assets, facilities, visitors, tenants, and employees as directed., • Lead weekly TSA compliance meetings to communicate updates, review incidents, and gather site status and compliance reports from operations managers., • Lead monthly Safety/Security/Dangerous Goods (DG) meetings to manage emerging threats, trends, and regulatory responsibilities., • Coordinate internal and external audits and inspections; prepare required documentation and corrective action plans, and ensure timely closure of findings., • Train and coach managers and front-line employees on TSA, DOT, FMCSA, Dangerous Goods, and facility security procedures., • Monitor changes in regulations affecting company operations and proactively update policies, procedures, and training materials., • Support incident investigations, root-cause analysis, and reporting related to safety, security, and regulatory compliance., • Partner with HR and Operations to ensure compliant onboarding, recurrent training, and access control for employees and contractors.Competencies, • People management and the ability to influence and train others at all levels., • Dealing with complexity and ambiguity while maintaining documentation accuracy., • Developing and implementing standards, policies, and procedures., • Legal and regulatory compliance orientation with strong ethical judgment., • Technical leadership in safety, security, and compliance topics., • Quality management and continuous improvement mindset., • Basic financial planning and budgeting skills related to compliance initiatives. Compensation & Benefits • Salary Range: $72,000 – $90,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications., • This range is consistent with, and slightly above, typical Compliance Coordinator pay levels in the New York metro area to reflect the specialized TSA/DOT responsibilities of this role.Work Environment & Schedule, • Based at our Long Island, NY facility with on‑site presence during normal business hours., • Occasional after-hours work may be required for audits, incident response, or training., • Knowledge and training in:, • IAC Management, • CCSF Management, • Dangerous Goods / Safety (IATA and/or 49 CFR awareness or certification preferred), • Department of Transportation regulations (FMCSA, driver/vehicle compliance, hours-of-service, etc.), • Strong understanding of TSA, DOT, FMCSA, and related transportation regulations., • Ability to interpret and apply regulatory language and convert it into practical procedures and training., • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present information clearly to groups and interact with regulatory officials., • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail., • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and the ability to learn company compliance and training systems.
