Job Description JOB OVERVIEW: The Pizza Cook is responsible for preparing high-quality pizzas and related menu items while maintaining the highest standards of food safety, cleanliness, and efficiency. This position requires strong culinary skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with the kitchen team. JOB EXPECTATIONS: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: • Prepare pizza dough from scratch., • Make sauces from scratch following established recipes and standards., • Stretch, shape, and handle pizza dough with consistency and skill., • Maintain high-quality standards in preparing and serving all food items., • Ensure all food meets company specifications and quality guarantees., • Apply solid culinary techniques and maintain strong knowledge of all food products., • Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary work environment at all times., • Follow all kitchen sanitation standards and food safety procedures., • Work proactively one to two days ahead to ensure proper product levels and timely deliveries., • Ensure proper product rotation using the first-in, first-out (FIFO) method., • Label and date all products accurately to ensure freshness and safety., • Regularly restock kitchen supplies and food items needed for service., • Assist in minimizing food costs and reducing waste., • Collaborate effectively with chefs, management, and service staff., • Support team members and respond to guest or employee inquiries as needed., • Maintain strong menu knowledge and ensure consistent plate presentation., • Follow all company, division, and department procedures and policies. This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities REQUIREMENTS: (Include equipment knowledge/use) • 2 Years minimum experience as a pizza cook or similar culinary role required., • Experience with wood-fired pizza ovens preferred., • Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation standards., • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment., • Excellent communication and teamwork skills., • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality., • Basic comprehension of English oral and written language, • Ability to read and measure recipes., • Experience with the interior of hotels, in restaurants and kitchen areas, with exposure to humidity, steam, and extreme temperatures., • Exposure to hazardous cleaning chemicals., • Ability to maintain a clean and organized work environment., • Knowledge of health, safety, and sanitation rules and regulations., • Must be able to work under time constraints and within established deadlines., • Must regularly lift and/move up to 50 pounds, and must have the ability to push, pull, reach and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces., • Physical ability and stamina to stand for long hours. • Work is performed indoors and outdoors in a climate-controlled environment and exposed to various environmental factors such as but not limited to noise, dust and smoke.
