Job Description Overview The Nurse Practitioner (NP) under the supervision of the Site Medical Director and other site Physicians, offers a comprehensive range of medical services to incarcerated patients in accordance with established policy and state guidelines. They ensure necessary documentation of services is provided to the Site Medical Director or designee to monitor the provision of clinical services. Additionally, they communicate scheduling changes to the Medical Director and H.S.A. and make arrangements for coverage of medical services if unavailable for an extended period of time. Responsibilities • Provides medical care to inmates, including conducting exams, chronic care clinics, and infirmary rounds., • Maintains accurate and legible progress note documentation in SOAP format and adheres to formulary guidelines., • Responds to emergencies and makes logical decisions regarding non-formulary drugs or off-site referrals., • Supports existing policies and procedures for admission, transfer, and specialty consultant referrals., • Maintains confidentiality and provides input into facility committees as requested. Qualifications Education • A graduate of an accredited school of nursing, • An advanced degree in an approved and accredited Nurse Practitioner program. The clinician is responsible for the provision of direct client services through the facilitation of weekly groups and coordination with other agencies serving the clients, including probation and polygraphy. The clinician in the ASO Program will demonstrate expertise in providing trauma-informed care, utilizing evidence-based approaches specific to sex offending behavior. Job Description Reports To: Medical Director Program: Article 32 and Article 31 Clinics Location: White Plains, NY Hours Per Week: 35 FLSA Status: Full Time, Exempt Salary Range: $86,000-$91,000 Summary of Duties: The Registered Nurse has overall responsibility of assessing and monitoring clients for gaps in preventive services and physical health conditions related to behavioral health treatment or common physical co-morbidities, in our Comprehensive Health Center, licensed by the Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS), Article 32 substance use treatment program. As well as our Article 31 Mental Health Outpatient Treatment and Rehabilitative Services. The Nurse provides screening and monitoring of key health indicators and health risk, as well as clinical monitoring for adverse effects of medications, including monitoring for metabolic syndrome. The Nurse will coordinate completion of required steps for initiation of Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT). The Nurse will serve as a consultant to other team members and may take over some of the work needed to adequately coordinate care if the management of a particular medical condition becomes complex. The Nurse will support recovery by providing services that reflect our deeply held values that include the recognition of individual rights of self-determination, choice, shared decision-making, and collaboration. When possible, the Registered Nurse will utilize evidence-based practices and always embracing a trauma-informed and person-centered approach.
