Job Description Aquinas Consulting is currently looking to fill an Inside Technical Sales Engineer job in Stamford, CT for our direct client in the aerospace industry. In this job, you will serve as a key interface between the company and its customers, supporting the full sales lifecycle from technical inquiry through quotation, order management, and post-sale support while collaborating with engineering, operations, and quality teams. Inside Technical Sales Engineer job responsibilities: • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers requiring technical clarification on products and services, • Interpret customer requirements, specifications, and statements of work to develop accurate technical and commercial responses, • Support configuration and selection of test equipment, calibration services, and related accessories, • Provide technical input for quotations, including scope, lead times, compliance, and pricing assumptions, • Prepare and issue accurate quotations in line with customer requirements and internal approval processes, • Enter, manage, and track orders through ERP systems from receipt through shipment and invoicing, • Coordinate with Operations, Engineering, and Quality to resolve scheduling, configuration, and compliance issues, • Monitor open orders and proactively communicate updates, risks, and changes to customers, • Maintain accurate customer, opportunity, and pipeline data within Salesforce, • Document all quotes, orders, customer interactions, and follow-ups to ensure data integrity, • Support sales forecasting, backlog reporting, and management reviews using CRM and ERP systems, • Act as a liaison between customers and internal teams including Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Program Management, • Support field sales and leadership with technical input, proposal data, and customer insights, • Assist with responses to customer technical inquiries, audits, and documentation requests, • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Physics, or a related technical field preferred, • 2–5 years of experience in inside technical sales, applications engineering, or a customer-facing technical role, • Experience working with electro-optical systems, night vision, test equipment, or defense-related products preferred, • Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 17025, or other regulated environments, • Understanding of calibration services and test and measurement equipment, • Experience supporting customers in export-controlled environments preferred, • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities Please note: Applying to this role is an agreement to have your information entered into our database and acknowledgement that a recruiter will reach out to you either by phone, email, and/or text message regarding this and similar job opportunities.
