Position Overview T&M Services is seeking a seasoned, high-impact Chief Operating Officer (COO) / Vice President of Business Operations to lead and integrate all core business functions, including Customer Service, Market Operations, Finance, Accounting, and Human Resources. This role serves as the execution leader of the organization, responsible for transforming strategy into results through disciplined operations, financial oversight, and people leadership. The COO will partner closely with the CEO to scale the business, install accountability systems, and build the infrastructure required for sustained multi-market growth. This is a critical leadership role for a company at an inflection point, requiring a proven operator who has successfully led at a Vice President of Business Operations (or equivalent) level and understands how to scale both systems and teams. Key Responsibilities 1. Enterprise Leadership & Integration Lead and integrate all core functions: • Market Operations (Market Coordinators, logistics, warehouse), • Finance & Accounting, • Human Resources, • Ensure alignment across departments to drive company-wide performance, • Serve as the central point of coordination between strategy and execution 2. Operational Excellence & Execution • Standardize and optimize processes across all markets, • Document and standardize SOPs and Process documentation, • Implement scalable systems and workflows to support growth, • Ensure operational discipline across all levels of the organization, • Serve as Integrator withing T&Ms operating system. 3. Financial Oversight & Performance • Own operational and financial performance in partnership with Finance, • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes, • Drive improvements in:, • Gross margin, • Labor efficiency, • Job profitability, • Cost management, • Ensure financial visibility and data-driven decision-making 4. Accountability Systems & Metrics • Build and implement a company-wide accountability framework, • Establish KPIs and scorecards across all departments, • Lead weekly and monthly operating rhythms to track performance, • Hold leaders accountable to outcomes and measurable results 5. Leadership Development & Organizational Design • Lead, coach, and develop department heads and market leaders, • Build a strong leadership bench capable of scaling with the business, • Define clear roles, responsibilities, and reporting structures, • Partner with HR to drive performance management and talent development 6. Human Resources & Culture Oversee HR strategy, including: • Talent acquisition, • Employee development, • Retention strategies, • Performance management, • Reinforce and scale a people-first, accountability-driven culture, • Ensure alignment between company values and day-to-day behaviors 7. Systems, Process & Technology • Drive adoption and optimization of operational and financial systems, • Develop SOPs and playbooks for repeatable execution, • Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency gains, • Lead continuous improvement initiatives across the organization 8. Customer Experience & Delivery • Ensure high-quality, consistent customer experiences across all markets, • Partner with Sales to ensure seamless handoff and execution, • Resolve escalated operational and client issues, • Protect and elevate the T&M brand through operational excellence Key Metrics of Success • Budget vs. Actual Performance, • Employee Retention & Engagement, • Customer Satisfaction & Retention, • System & Process Adoption Rates Required Experience & Qualifications • 7+ years of progressive operational leadership experience, with increasing scope and responsibility, • Proven experience operating at a Vice President of Business Operations level (or equivalent), • Experience overseeing multiple business functions (operations, finance, HR, technology or similar), • Strong financial acumen with ownership of budgets, forecasting, and P&L performance, • Demonstrated success scaling operations across multiple locations or markets, • Experience implementing systems, KPIs, and accountability frameworks, • Background in field-based, construction or service industries strongly preferred Leadership Traits Required • Enterprise Thinker Sees how all functions connect and performs as one system, • Execution Driver Turns plans into measurable results, • Accountability Leader Sets the standard and enforces it consistently, • Builder & Scaler Creates structure, systems, and repeatability, • People Developer Builds strong leaders and teams, • Direct & Decisive Willing to make tough calls and address issues head-on Why This Role Matters T&M Services is entering its next phase of growth and requires a leader who can bring structure, clarity, and discipline to a complex, multi-functional organization.
