Job Description Job Summary The AVP, Actuarial Models is responsible for overseeing and directing the Actuarial Models team, using primarily the Moody's AXIS actuarial modeling software. Responsibilities include overseeing development, peer review of development and integration of coding changes to the corporate model, including changes for new product implementation, enhanced product features, new regulatory requirements, new lines of business, and support for strategic initiatives including reinsurance. Organization This position reports to the VP, Actuarial Models and will interact with multiple levels of senior management, including significant ongoing exposure with VPs of Actuarial, Finance, IT and Risk, as well as SVPs of Finance, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Retail and Institutional Business Units, and the Chief Actuary and Chief Risk Officer. This is a leadership position and will manage a team of 8-10 actuaries and technicians, including responsibility for their selection, training and development in conjunction with the Chief Actuary and Human Resources' overall training and staff development plan for all actuaries.
