Job Description Position Summary: Blends raw material in a batch process, maintaining an orderly and clean facility in compliance with state and federal regulations and completing all paperwork associated with these tasks. Position Scope: • Daily production volume is based on the product scheduled, which is determined by inventory volume and product demand. Position Responsibility: • Retrieves the raw material batch, which has been reserved from storage room., • Following the batch record the Blender will process the raw material based on the step by step batch instructions. The raw material will be handled differently based on the batch record, e.g. screened, Fitz Mill, etc. Puts raw material into the blender, which is timed based on the batch instructions. Runs blenders depending upon the batch size, e.g., 3cu, 10cu, 30cu, 50cu or 75 cu. After the blending is complete, they discharge blend into totes or clean drum., • Weighs whole totes or drum and puts weight on the paperwork., • Quality will verify the weight., • Move totes or drum into the storage area by using a hand jack, electric jack or forklift., • Must properly care for and maintain equipment during use and storage of the equipment, • The operator performs lock out / tag out procedures., • Physical Lifting required in the form of plastic and metal drums, totes, equipment, etc. Ladder climbing and forklift operation to retrieve stock. The lifting can be between 25-30Kg and/or roll drums weighting 80 kilos which occurs 25% of the day., • Must wear Personal Protective Equipment – a respirator, ear plugs, hair net, beard cover and uniform., • Overtime may be required based on production volumes, • Cross training will be conducted as time permits to increase knowledge of other production positions., • Satisfactory completion of appropriate corporate training as related to the position and/or department., • Assures compliance by following Food and Drug Administration's Good Manufacturing Practices as well as other regulatory standards as required by the department., • Contributes to overall achievement by accomplishing related tasks and demonstrating characteristics that exemplify team building and support., • The above is not intended to be an all-inclusive list of responsibilities.
