Job Summary: The Lactation Consultant Registered Nurse provides breastfeeding education and support to parents of infants. Acts as a consultant to parents on postpartum. Develops policies and standards of care based upon evidenced-based practice and current research. Reviews and maintains all educational materials distributed to parents regarding breastfeeding. Participates in consortium and community related breastfeeding activities. Maintains regulatory compliance as appropriate. Maintains logs and prepares monthly reports as requested.
