The Residential Maintenance Worker role is ideal for a skilled, hands-on professional with a strong background in general maintenance, construction, and repair. A Day in the Life as a Residential Maintenance Worker In this role, you will assist with the general maintenance of all agency-owned residential properties. Your work will include preparing apartments for new or relocating residents, which involves moving furniture, appliances, and supplies-often requiring heavy lifting. You will perform a wide range of routine maintenance tasks such as painting, drywall repair, plumbing, electrical work, and cabinet installation. You'll also support the rest of the team with more extensive repairs and renovation projects, including kitchen and bathroom demolition and rehabilitation. Additional responsibilities include installing and repairing various types of flooring-such as ceramic tile, VCT, and vinyl-as well as troubleshooting and addressing appliance issues. The role requires you to repair or replace windows, doors, and door locks, and to complete both minor and major building repairs inside and out, including work up to two stories high.
