The BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! is NYCs longest-running, free performance festival, and a beloved summer tradition featuring approximately 30 varied large-scale performances and attracting upwards of 200,000 people each summer to the Prospect Park Bandshell. About the Stagehand (Technical Services) BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! Role: BRIC seeks an experienced and skilled Master Electrician for a seasonal position at the renowned Celebrate Brooklyn festival. As a Master Electrician, you will be responsible for overseeing all electrical work, ensuring safe and efficient setups and maintenance for the duration of the event. This is a great opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, providing technical support for various performances and events. What Youll Do in the Role: The Master Electrician will be responsible for the following in addition to any other project as assigned by their manager, the Technical Director, BCB: • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems for performances, sound, lighting, and other event needs., • Ensure all electrical work meets local and national electrical codes and safety standards., • Supervise electrical crews, providing guidance and ensuring all work is completed efficiently and to a high standard., • Conduct regular safety checks and ensure proper grounding and wiring for all equipment., • Collaborate with the event production team to ensure smooth operations and timely setup and breakdown of electrical systems., • Diagnose and resolve electrical issues promptly to minimize downtime during events., • Assist with electrical design and planning as needed for specific events or installations., • Ensure all electrical equipment is properly maintained and stored at the conclusion of the event., • Oversee the integration of vendor-supplied power sources into the electrical system, including incoming feeds from utility companies or external suppliers., • Coordinate with external vendors to verify that power provided is within acceptable voltage and phase balance for seamless integration into the sites electrical infrastructure. Youll Bring these Skills and Strengths to the Role: • Mission & Values Alignment: A passion for BRICs support of the arts in Brooklyn and a deep commitment to building community, igniting learning and making change through the arts and creativity., • Experience & Qualifications:, • Valid Master Electrician License., • Extensive experience with electrical systems, grounding, power distribution, and vendor power integration., • In-depth knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC) and local electrical regulations., • Proven experience with power commissioning, troubleshooting, and vendor power coordination., • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously., • Strong communication and leadership skills to supervise teams and coordinate with vendors and clients., • Communication & Relationship Building: An emotionally intelligent, values- and results-driven leader who can inspire staff and collaborate across departments and at all levels of the organization, and provide feedback and coaching to support the achievement of goals. Other Things to Know: • Compensation: The salary for this position is $45/hr., • Status and location: This is a seasonal role based at the Lena Horne Bandshell at Prospect Park., • General Schedule:, • Load In: May 4th - June 6 (Monday-Friday 8 hours/ day), • BCBF Season: June 4th - September 19th (exact dates to be determined Approximately 10-14 hours/ day), • Load Out: September 21st - October 3rd (12 days, 8 hours/ day)- September 4 (Load Out: 8 -10 consecutive 8 hrs/ day, exact dates TBD), • Mission & Values: BRIC is committed to building Brooklyn's creative future.
