Job DescriptionSalary: Job Description Deli Team Member Position Title:Deli Team Member Department:Deli Reports To:Deli Manager / Shift Lead FLSA Status:Non-Exempt Position Overview The Deli Team Member plays a key role in delivering excellent food quality and customer service within our deli department. This position is responsible for preparing, cooking, and serving food items, maintaining a clean and organized work environment, and supporting overall deli operations. Flexibility, teamwork, and a strong work ethic are essential. Key Responsibilities Food Preparation & Cooking • Prepare, season, cook, bake, and fry food items according to company recipes and safety standards., • Operate fryers, ovens, steam tables, and other kitchen equipment safely and correctly., • Follow proper portioning and presentation guidelines., • Assist with daily prep work, including chopping, slicing, and assembling ingredients. Service & Customer Interaction • Serve customers at the steam table line with speed, accuracy, and a positive attitude., • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked service line at all times., • Answer customer questions about menu items and provide recommendations when appropriate. Dishwashing & Cleaning • Wash dishes, utensils, pans, and equipment using proper sanitation procedures., • Keep workstations, prep areas, and storage areas clean and orderly., • Follow all sanitation, handwashing, and food-safety regulations. Operations & Teamwork • Assist with opening and closing duties as assigned., • Check temperatures, rotate stock, and ensure proper food storage., • Communicate any product shortages or equipment issues to the shift lead or manager., • Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while supporting other team members as needed. Qualifications • Prior experience in a deli, cafeteria, or kitchen environment preferred but not required., • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive motions., • Able to lift up to 40 lbs and handle hot equipment safely., • Strong communication skills and a customer-first mindset., • Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work in a team environment. Work Environment & Schedule • Fast-paced kitchen/deli environment requiring regular standing, lifting, bending, and reaching., • Must be available for various shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
