About the Position • Develops information needs for process evaluations and project scoping. Works with client to collect required information as needed., • Creates new or updates to Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&IDs), • Develops material and energy balances, • Contribute to sizing and specification of process equipment and instrumentation such as control valves, PSVs, etc., • Process Hazard Analysis (HAZOP) experience desired, with facilitation experience a plus, • Performs process simulations, hydraulic calculations and pipe sizing. Skills and Abilities • Experience with process engineering software (i.e. Aspen Plus, HYSYS, PRO/II, UniSim, ProSim, proprietary programs etc.), • Experience in industrial projects including refinery/chemicals/renewable energy, • Communicate effectively with all levels of the project team., • Ability to work independently, prioritize workload to meet deadlines., • Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S Education and Experience • Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering., • Minimum of 10 years of Process Engineering experience in a multi-discipline environment in the refining or chemical manufacturing industry., • Demonstrated experience in Process Design and Troubleshooting., • Knowledge of industry codes and good engineering practices. Physical Requirements • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, • Climbing (stairs/ladders) and field visits are required., • Exposure to outdoors, • Must be able to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). This includes hardhat, safety glasses, respirators, ear plugs, steel toed shoes, or other equipment as required., • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
