Role Overview Title: Litigation Associate Type: Full-Time Location: Roseland, NJ (On-site, with the option to work one day per week remotely) Reports To: Partners / Senior Litigation Attorneys The Litigation Associate will work on high-value, complex personal injury, medical malpractice, mass tort, commercial litigation, and class action matters in federal and state courts as part of an experienced team of trial attorneys. This will include federal MDL and New Jersey state court MCL litigations. This role is built for an attorney who wants real responsibility, courtroom exposure, and the opportunity to learn and grow within a leading plaintiffs' litigation firm. What You'll Do • Work with senior attorneys and partners on high-value federal and state court litigation matters, including complex mass tort, medical malpractice, personal injury, commercial litigation, and class action cases., • Draft pleadings, motions, legal briefs, discovery requests and responses, expert disclosures, and other litigation documents., • Conduct legal research, develop case strategy, and analyze scientific and professional literature, medical records, expert reports, and other evidence., • Take and defend depositions, attend court appearances, case management conferences, mediations, arbitrations, and trials., • Communicate professionally with clients, experts, opposing counsel, and the court., • High-quality written work product, including pleadings, briefs, and motions that require minimal revision., • Meaningful, reliable contribution to the firm's high-value matters as part of a collaborative trial team., • Professionalism, accountability, and a client-first mindset consistent with the firm's reputation and values., • Effective and timely management of an independent caseload, with strong case outcomes for clients. Compensation Compensation Type: Salary, plus benefits and bonus opportunity Mazie Slater Katz & Freeman offers a highly competitive compensation package commensurate with experience and reflective of the firm's reputation as a top-tier plaintiffs' litigation practice. • Base salary: Competitive and commensurate with experience, • Bonus opportunity: Performance- and results-based bonus potential, • Benefits: Health insurance, paid time off, retirement plan, and additional firm benefits, • Professional development: Bar dues, CLEs, and continuing education support About You You may be a strong fit if: • You have at least 4+ years of litigation experience, ideally in personal injury, medical malpractice, mass torts, complex civil litigation, and/or class actions., • You are confident with legal research and writing, including drafting pleadings, motions, and legal briefs., • You have strong analytical, organizational, and case management abilities, and can handle multiple matters at different stages simultaneously., • You communicate clearly and professionally with clients, colleagues, experts, opposing counsel, and the court, and you have effective negotiation skills., • You are organized, self-directed, and accountable, with sound judgment and strong attention to detail., • You are comfortable working on-site in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, and you thrive in a collaborative trial-focused practice., • You are motivated by meaningful work, professional growth, and obtaining life-changingl results for clients., • You are admitted (or eligible for admission) to practice law in New Jersey; New York admission is a plus.
