Job Description Job Title: Controller & Strategic Operations Lead Classification: Full-time, exempt Pay Rate: $150,000 - $170,000 Reports to: Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Brooklyn Bridge Park (BBP) is looking to hire an accomplished Controller & Strategic Operations Lead to serve as a senior partner to the Chief Financial Officer. This role is responsible for advancing the organization’s financial infrastructure, optimizing operational performance, and ensuring fiscal integrity across all functions. Reporting to the CFO, the Controller & Strategic Operations Lead will play a pivotal role in aligning financial strategy with organizational goals, modernizing systems, and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Primary Responsibilities: Strategic Financial Management * Support the CFO in developing and executing financial strategies that align with the park’s mission and long-term goals. * Oversee core accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and reconciliations. * Ensure timely, accurate, and transparent financial reporting in accordance with GAAP and other applicable standards. * Contribute to the development of multi-year financial plans, forecasts, and performance metrics. Systems Integration & Technology Modernization * Lead initiatives to integrate and upgrade financial systems, enhancing data accuracy, reporting capabilities, and operational agility. * Collaborate with IT and external vendors to evaluate, implement, and maintain financial technology solutions. * Identify opportunities for automation and digital transformation across finance and administrative functions. Operational Excellence & Efficiency * Analyze and improve workflows, policies, and procedures to increase efficiency and reduce operational risk. * Implement non-systems-based solutions to streamline cross-functional processes and improve service delivery. * Champion a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement. Compliance, Controls & Reporting * Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies. * Prepare and submit reports to regulatory agencies and stakeholders. * Coordinate internal audits and serve as a key liaison with external auditors. Leadership & Organizational Development * Provide day-to-day leadership and mentorship to finance and administrative staff. * In coordination with the People and Culture team, support talent development, performance management, and team-building initiatives. * Represent the finance function in strategic planning and executive-level discussions as delegated by the CFO. Qualifications: * Minimum 5 years of senior-level experience in finance, accounting, or operations leadership. * Proven expertise in accounting, systems integration, budgeting, financial analysis, and policy development. * Strong leadership and team-building skills. * Excellent communication and strategic thinking abilities. * Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. * Ability to work independently and collaboratively under tight deadlines. * Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field (MBA or CPA) preferred.
