Job Description Site Coordinator - Ignite Youth Leadership Program – Part-time Unite Health Share Ministries (UHSM) is a nonprofit, faith-based health sharing ministry that facilitates member-to-member health sharing among fellow Christians, serving as a connector to administer medical cost sharing. IGNITE Youth Leadership Program We are a unique sports and leadership ministry that empowers teams of youth (middle and high school age) to coach, mentor, and walk alongside their younger peers (elementary school age) through sports activities and games. Primarily, and due to popularity, that sport has been soccer. However, we do weave into our curriculum other sports, interactive games, and activities (waste basket tennis, chair hockey, scooterball, etc.). Alongside this we build up that same youth leader team with weekly classes and workshops around prayer and faith, leadership, community engagement, and workforce development. About this role The IYLP Site Coordinator will provide direct support to the Kid Works – Santa Ana IGNITE Youth Leadership Program, the Site Director, IGNITE college intern, and the IGNITE youth leaders on and during all activities and programs. This includes but is not limited to assistance in coordinating, scheduling, and managing character sports classes and community engagement programs with partner, Kid Works, OC. Included is the assistance with the training, recruitment, and selection of youth leaders along with community outreach and brand awareness, facilitating faith and leadership workshops, and providing a positive and faith filled presence to the community. This position will also require the familiarization of the program manual along with occasional administrative updates, proofreading, possible data collection, and reporting. Additionally, work around social media posts, pictures, and content will be required. Details • 20-25 hours per week., • Typically, after school hours Monday – Thursday 1/ 2:00pm to 7:00pm and occasional once a month field trip. Once futsal / sport league is established, some hours will switch to Saturday’s. Schedule will be determined in collaboration with Site Director and Site Partner. Key Responsibilities Logistics • Provide support and co-lead (with the Site Director) on all matters related to the Ignite Youth Leadership Program. This includes but is not limited to the junior program, senior program, goals and outcomes, recruitment and development of students, student disciplinary matters, partner site meetings and collaboration events, team meetings, creation and supervision of small weekend sports league, and leadership and faith development., • Responsible for the co-supervision, co-coordination, and co-implementation of the IGNITE junior leader classes. Coordinator is responsible for working closely with the Site Director in the creation of or adaptation of junior curriculum, recruitment of students to the class, setting of goals and outcomes, setting primary end of class community service projects, and communication with guest facilitators if necessary., • Work with Site Director on the creation of small, sided boys’ elementary futsal league. The league will be the direct responsibility of the coordinator. This includes but is not limited to permission slips in line with current partner (Kid Works OC) permission slips, recruitment and sign up of youth teams, securing of coaches, parent and coach informational meetings, setting court and facility rules, guidelines, and expectations, securing referee’s, ordering of uniforms, setting schedule, etc., • Provide co-direction and supervision for IYLP youth leadership senior team (10-15 students) on all character sports / soccer classes, including but not limited to youth leader speaking schedule, station assignments, dates, timeline for the classes, talking points, set-up and break down of all necessary equipment, and collaboration with any outside partner if needed., • Maintain consistent communication and relationship with all Ignite Youth Leaders, Fireside Director and Founder, college intern, and partner site administrators (Kid Works OC)., • Responsible for the collaboration with college intern on all IYLP related social media content. This includes aiding in taking pictures, uploading to social media accounts, communication with Site Director on any questions, and adding appropriate tags and subject matter alongside college intern., • Lead and facilitate conversation in team meetings around leadership and faith., • Responsible for the IYLP e-forms and student/parent information collection and summary. This includes where it is stored (shared drive/at KW in file cabinet), update contact list, create folders for each leader that includes their full application, interview notes, parent and student contact information, any medical needs or allergies, and any miscellaneous materials from trainings or workshops., • Co-plan and co-coordinate all field trip detail and logistics., • Help supervise all youth leaders and communicate clearly to parents and partner site on trip details and logistics. Key Responsibilities • Must have at least 1-2 years of hands-on youth development experience., • Enrolled in local college/university, trade school (working towards a degree / certification), or certification program. A bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required., • Must be able to pass background check and TB test., • Must be detailed, highly organized and possess the ability to prioritize and time manage., • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills., • Intermediate MS Excel and Word required., • Bilingual in Spanish and English, • Excellent team player and interpersonal relational skills., • Experience with sports activities (or love of the game), sports leagues, non-profit, education, or community activation and service desired., • Familiarity with and ability to post on social media platforms. Position will work alongside designated youth leaders to take pictures, post, and edit all language around content.
