Job DescriptionGeneral Production Worker Job Description The General Production Worker uses machinery and power tools to assemble pre‑fabricated and pre‑hung doors in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. Duties include reading work orders, measuring and installing components, and preparing surfaces for finishing. This role requires reliability, a willingness to learn, and comfort working with hand and power tools in a busy wood shop. Responsibilities • Operate machinery and power tools (mills, chop saws, joiners, nail guns) to assemble doors, • Read and follow work orders for parts, hardware, and assembly steps, • Measure materials accurately using a tape measure, • Select and install parts and hardware such as hinges, • Sand and prep doors for finishing and paint booth processes, • Prep doors for spraying or coating in the paint booth, • Maintain quality, accuracy, and appearance standards, • Work efficiently on high‑volume production lines (300+ doors per day), • Repeatedly lift and handle doors weighing 70–100+ lbs, • Follow supervisor instructions and work as part of a production team, • Keep the work area clean and organized, • Follow safety procedures around tools, dust, chemicals, and coatings, • Safely operate hand and power tools, including mills, chop saws, joiners, and nail guns, • Use a tape measure accurately for cutting and assembly, • Work in a fast‑paced production environment handling 300+ doors per day, • Repeatedly lift and move doors weighing 70–100+ lbs, • Maintain attention to detail for quality and accuracy, • Read and follow written work orders and instructions, • Learn new tasks and follow direction from supervisors, • Maintain reliable attendance and a strong work ethic, • Work safely around sawdust, glue, paint, acetone, and coatings, • Construction, production, or warehouse experience preferred but not required, • Manufacturing or wood shop machine experience is a plus, • Forklift experience or certification is a plus, • Experience using hand and power tools in shop, construction, or assembly settings, • Make quick, safe decisions while maintaining quality standards Employees work in a performance‑driven environment that rewards hard work with profit sharing, KPI bonuses, mid‑year incentives, and 401(k) match. Work Environment The role is based in a large wood‑shop‑style door manufacturing and distribution facility. The environment is active and messy, with sawdust, wood scraps, and exposure to glue, paint, acetone, and coatings while following safety procedures. Production runs on three lines—basic interior, steel exterior, and custom doors—with most new hires starting on steel or basic interior lines. You work closely with a team of 30+ people in a fast‑paced, line‑based setup with high daily output and optional overtime. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Spokane Valley, WA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.50/hr.
