Job Description Plumbing Mechanic Job Description Direct the installation of plumbing and related systems, equipment, and fixtures. Plan, layout, participate in, and supervise plumbing work on job sites and in the shop. The role involves working independently, with oversight provided on larger construction and modification projects. Maintenance and repair assignments are received via Teams Construction software, written job requests, or emergency calls. Work is reviewed by equipment users and observed for compliance with specifications and building codes. Supervision is under general direction from leads on site. Responsibilities • Direct installation of plumbing systems, equipment, and fixtures., • Plan, layout, and supervise plumbing work on job sites., • Participate in plumbing work with considerable independence., • Receive work assignments via Teams Construction software and written requests., • Ensure construction and remodeling work complies with specifications and building codes., • Work under general supervision from site leads. Essential Skills • Knowledge of plumbing trade practices, methods, materials, tools, and equipment., • Ability to analyze plumbing equipment defects and determine necessary repairs., • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, and laying out work from prints, rough plans, sketches, drawings, and broken parts. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience with cast iron is highly advantageous., • Ability to lay out and run storm or sanitary lines with helpers., • Experience working with water and temporary water lines., • Skill in laying out and marking. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $37.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
