Job Description About NECS We are a family-owned business looking for more than just a temporary worker. This business is our pride and joy, and we treat it with immense care. We are seeking 2-3 dedicated individuals who will treat this company with that same level of ownership and respect. We are looking for candidates who want steady, long-term employment. Our goal is to train you in every aspect of the labor—from washing to repairs—with the potential for the right person to eventually step into a Foreman/Leadership role. We want someone we can trust, rely on, and build a future with. Brief Job Description: (More information below) NECS is an Industrial Recycling Facility hiring full time laborers. This is an industrial labor position involving physical work involving pressure washing, pressure testing, container repairs, manual cleaning of containers, and manual moving of containers. You will be on your feet for 9-10 hour shifts 5 days per week and ~6 hour shifts most Saturday mornings. You will be doing cleaning and repairs on Industrial Bulk Containers (IBCs) that hold a wide range of liquid products (ex: adhesives, chemicals, perfumes, soaps, food products, etc.). The IBCs range in size and material (plastic and stainless steel). Those who learn fast, work at a fast pace efficiently, pay attention to detail, are ready to jump in and get dirty, and are trustworthy/reliable will be of higher value to us and thus will have the potential to earn more. This Job is NOT * Janitorial Work * Kitchen Work * House Keeping Work * Picking/Packing * Logistics * Driving * Customer Service Who We Are Looking For * Reliability: We prioritize candidates with a stable work history. If you change jobs every few months, this is not the right fit. We are looking for long term commitment. * Ownership Mindset: We need self-starters who take pride in their work and don't need constant supervision to stay busy. Individuals who take it upon themselves to go the extra mile and ensure that all work is completed up to our highest standards without any intervention from management will be of high value to us. * Versatility: You must be willing to do the "dirty work" and step in wherever needed when needed. When You Apply We will want: * to see that you have held a job(s) for a significant period of time (2+ years or more preferably) * to know about the labor work that you have done previously * to know how committed you are to staying with our company long term (we know this will be difficult to say before you have experienced what the role is actually like, so we will follow up with you after about a week of you trying out the position to see how you feel) Requirements * Non-Negotiable: Authorized to work in the U.S. * Non-Negotiable: Ability to stand and perform manual labor for 10-hour shifts. * Non-Negotiable: Reliable commute to the warehouse. * Non-Negotiable: Attention to detail (you must ensure containers meet specific safety and cleanliness standards). * Mechanical Aptitude: Comfortable working with machinery (pressure washers, grinders, air testers). * Language: Bilingual (Spanish and English) is a huge plus, though not required. * Experience: Those who enjoy doing hands-on labor will be a good fit here. Previous work experience that will set you up to be successful here: mechanical labor, automotive repair, HVAC work, plumbing work, manufacturing plants, scrap yards, and construction are good examples. Note: We are happy to train the right person if they have the right attitude. Responsibilities You will be expected to learn all roles in the warehouse. We will train you on the mechanics, but you must be willing to learn a lot and fast: * Industrial Cleaning: Washing, rinsing, and drying IBC totes using pressure washers, steam cleaners, and specialized cleaning solutions. * Testing & Quality Control: Using pressurized air testers to check for leaks and inspecting totes for cleanliness/defects according to strict customer specs. * Repairs & Maintenance: replacing valves, caps, and cages; applying thread sealant/tape; and performing light repairs (including basic welding—we can train you on this). * Material Handling: Moving, pushing, and positioning containers manually. * Safety: Strictly following procedures regarding chemical handling and machinery operation (plastic grinders, pressure testers, etc.). Is This the Right Fit for You? (A Guide to Our Daily Workflow) We want you to succeed from day one! To make sure this role aligns with your career goals and physical comfort, here is a transparent look at what a typical day looks like in our facility. The Work Environment Our warehouse is the heart of our operation. Because it is an open industrial space, it is subject to the seasons (hot in the summer and cold in the winter). You’ll be working closely with water and industrial cleaning solvents, so it’s an environment where getting wet and/or dirty is just part of a productive day’s work. There are frequently loud sounds and strong odors from the cleaning products and the previous contents of the containers (ex: adhesives, chemicals, paints, perfumes, soaps etc.). Physical Expectations This is an active, high-energy position. You can expect to be on your feet and moving for the duration of a 9–10 hour shift. We take pride in our steady workflow, so if you enjoy a fast-paced day where the time flies by because you're constantly in motion, you’ll feel right at home here. Equipment & Roles * A "Floor-First" Approach: While forklift experience is a fantastic asset, please note that our team members spend about 95 - 100% of their time performing manual tasks on the floor. PLEASE DO NOT APPLY IF YOU ARE EXPECTING A DRIVING/FORKLIFT POSITION. * Focus & Efficiency: This is a fast-paced assembly line adjacent environment that requires a high level of attention to detail. There is NO customer service involved in this role. It is extremely important that our employees ensure orders are completed accurately and efficiently to maintain customer satisfaction. Because our process relies on timing and precision, the role is best suited for those who have high energy, work fast, and efficiently. * Our team works at a fast pace, and you will be expected to keep up with them. * You will be expected to learn a lot and at a fast pace. Pay: $16 - $25 per hour (Starting pay depends on experience; specific skills like welding help) Schedule: Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM (Occasional half-day overtime on Saturdays) Benefits * Competitive hourly pay with performance-based growth. * Time-and-a-half overtime opportunities. * Benefits package available (details provided during hiring).
