Job Description Rate of Pay: $16.00/hr. Location: East El Paso, TX Work Schedule: Full Time SUMMARY: The General Maintenance Worker is responsible for performing a variety of routine maintenance, repair, and support tasks throughout the facility. This includes groundskeeping, building upkeep, and assisting with repairs on the production floor to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations. The role provides flexible support to the Maintenance Department by handling general facility needs and assisting skilled technicians with larger repairs or projects. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES: Production Floor Repairs & Support • Perform minor repairs on production equipment under the guidance of maintenance technicians (e.g., belts, guards, bolts, fixtures)., • Assist with equipment moves, installations, and setups on the production floor., • Respond promptly to breakdowns by providing labor support (fetching parts, tools, helping technicians.)., • Perform preventive checks on basic equipment components (tightening, cleaning, visual inspection)., • Support sanitation maintenance by reassembling equipment after wash-down as needed. Facilities & Grounds Maintenance • Conduct routine building repairs such as fixing doors, windows, flooring, walls, and ceilings., • Maintain plant grounds including landscaping, parking lot, fences, drainage, and exterior lighting., • Provide labor support during construction or remodeling projects., • Assist technicians with fabrications, welding, or assembly of workstations, racks and fixtures., • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area., • Properly use personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safety, GMP, USDA, and FDA guidelines., • Complete required logs, checklists, and work orders accurately and on time., • Communicate equipment or facility issues to the Maintenance Manager promptly., • Support other departments by responding to maintenance-related requests. Qualifications: • High school diploma or GED required, trade/technical training a plus., • 1-3 years of general maintenance experience, preferably in a food manufacturing, warehouse, or industrial environment., • Basic skills in carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical, or mechanical work., • Ability to use hand and power tools safely, • Knowledge of lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures preferred., • Ability to lift 50 lbs. and work in varied environments(cold, wet, hot, outdoor)., • Strong communication and team work skills.Company DescriptionT&T Staff Mission Statement: T&T Staff Management, Inc. is a Human Resources Outsourcing firm (or PEO) that is dedicated to providing superior solutions to problems in the areas of Human Resources, Workers' Compensation, Safety, Employee Benefit Administration, and Payroll to increase profitability and productivity for our client companies while simultaneously saving them time, and reducing labor costs and liability.
