Job Description POSITION SUMMARY The Supv-Warehouse will supervise the day-to-day activities of the welding team that performs warehouse functions at a OEM manufacturing center. This position is responsible for ensuring quality, efficiency, and safety throughout the welding process while leading and managing a team of welders. CORE FUNCTIONS Team Leadership • Supervise, train, and motivate employees., • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback., • Foster a positive and productive work environment., • Act as the main point of contact for team-related issues and concerns., • Communicate effectively with team members, management, and other departments., • Supervise and coordinate welding activities, ensuring adherence to quality standards and production deadlines., • Oversee the setup, operation, and maintenance of welding equipment and tools., • Enforce compliance with safety standards, including OSHA regulations and company-specific policies. Quality Control • Ensure all orders are processed accurately and efficiently., • Ensure all products are handled and stored correctly to prevent damage., • Address and resolve any issues or escalate to shift management., • Implement and maintain quality control processes, identifying defects and recommending corrective actions. Safety and Compliance • Promote a culture of safety and ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations., • Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions., • Ensure proper execution of all related warehouse processes including all inbound and outbound requirements; internal put-away, picking, shipping, and production replenishment; and any waste stream management including trash and recyclables., • Ensure proper levels of warehouse staffing to support plant operations., • Conduct layered process audits as directed and track and report results., • Complete all required recording of warehouse movements and reporting as directed by MCL Site Manager., • Track, audit, and ensure accuracy of inventory throughout the warehouse., • Monitor completeness, accuracy, and compliance during inventory transactions., • Work with MCL Site Manager on E&O inventory and disposition., • Execute cycle count schedule in compliance with corporate accounting objectives., • Investigate, identify, and reconcile inventory discrepancies., • Audit process and paper flow errors to spot inconsistencies that lead to inaccuracy., • Continuously identify areas for process improvement to increase operational efficiency., • Work with management to implement new technologies or strategies to streamline warehouse operations., • Prepare regular reports on warehouse operations, including inventory levels, order status, and performance metrics., • Communicate with other departments (such as purchasing, and customer service) to coordinate timely deliveries and resolve issues., • Maintain accurate documentation of work orders, inspections, and compliance records., • Conduct regular audits and ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS Education and Experience • Bachelor’s degree required., • 4+ years of experience in a warehouse environment required., • 1+ year of experience leading a warehouse team required., • 5+ years of experience in welding, manufacturing, or a related field preferred., • Proficiency in welding processes required such as MIG, TIG, and Stick welding., • Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings., • Ability to pass an in-house welding competency test. Required Licenses or Certifications • OSHA compliant MHE certifications based on plant equipment with continued renewal as per regulations. Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge • MS Office, especially Excel., • Working knowledge in order processing systems and warehouse management systems., • Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedures., • Ability to write routine reports and communicate effectively to groups of employees., • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, and percentages., • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in standard and non-standard situations., • Fluency in Spanish is highly desired. SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES • Supervisor: Schedules, oversees, and reviews the work of direct reports. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS • This position is subject to Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls require exertion of force greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work. Physical Activities • This position is subject to the following physical activities: talking, hearing, and the use of hands, fingers, or wrists in repetitive motions., • Manual dexterity to safely handle welding tools and equipment., • Comfortable working in environments with high temperatures, noise, sparks, and welding fumes. Visual Acuity • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly of fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
