Job Description Job Title: General Production Worker Job Description This role supports day-to-day operations in a busy steel warehouse by operating CNC machinery, handling materials, cleaning parts and equipment, and ensuring accurate, high-quality production. You will work with a variety of machines and tools, follow detailed job orders, and contribute to a safe and efficient manufacturing process across multiple shifts. Responsibilities • Operate CNC machines, including loading materials, setting up jobs, and performing changeovers according to production requirements., • Edit and troubleshoot CNC code to maintain efficient and accurate machine performance., • Perform preventative maintenance on CNC equipment to reduce downtime and extend machine life., • Conduct quality checks on materials and finished parts using measuring devices such as tape measures and micrometers., • Read and interpret blueprints and job orders to ensure correct specifications and production standards., • Enter job orders and production data into CNC systems accurately and in a timely manner., • Operate a front end loader to move materials to and from storage racks safely and efficiently., • Load and unload flatbed trucks with materials and finished products, following proper material handling procedures., • Clean CNC equipment and parts to maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work area., • Use forklifts, cranes, and other material handling equipment as needed to support production operations., • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while working with machinery, power tools, and heavy materials., • Experience operating CNC machines, including loading, setup, and changeovers., • Ability to edit and troubleshoot CNC code during production., • Proficiency in using measuring devices such as tape measures and micrometers for inspection and quality checks., • Experience with machining and inspection in a production or warehouse environment., • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and job orders accurately., • Material handling experience, including moving, loading, and unloading materials safely., • Ability to operate a front end loader to move materials within a warehouse or yard., • Experience with general machine operation and mechanical assembly tasks., • Comfort using forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material handling equipment., • Previous experience in a steel warehouse or heavy industrial environment., • Experience as a loader on third shift or in similar overnight production roles., • Experience as a parts cleaner, particularly with CNC equipment and components., • Familiarity with CNC programming concepts and basic troubleshooting methods. Work Environment The role is based in a steel warehouse environment that is non-climate-controlled and can be dirty and physically demanding, with frequent movement of heavy materials and operation of industrial equipment. You will work around CNC machines, front end loaders, forklifts, cranes, power tools, and other production machinery. Standard schedules include first shift (5:30 AM – 1:30 PM, Monday–Friday), second shift (1:30 PM – 9:30 PM, Monday–Friday), and third shift (9:30 PM – 5:30 AM, Sunday–Thursday). Appropriate workwear suitable for an industrial, steel-handling environment is required to support safety and comfort throughout the shift. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Nashville, TN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $24.00/hr.
