Job Description Activities Assistant / Receptionist Job Title: Activities Assistant / Receptionist Status: Part-Time / Per Diem Schedule: Days, Evenings, Weekends, and Holidays as Required Position Summary: We are seeking a compassionate, energetic, and customer-service-oriented Activities Assistant / Receptionist to join our long-term care team. This dual-role position combines resident engagement with front desk responsibilities. The ideal candidate will help create meaningful recreational activities for residents while providing a welcoming and professional experience for visitors, families, and staff. Responsibilities: Activities Assistant Duties: • Assist in planning, organizing, and facilitating recreational, social, educational, and therapeutic activities for residents., • Encourage resident participation and engagement in scheduled programs., • Escort residents to and from activities as needed., • Assist with decorating for holidays, special events, and themed activities., • Support community outings and special celebrations., • Help maintain activity supplies and equipment. Receptionist Duties: • Greet residents, visitors, families, and vendors in a friendly and professional manner., • Answer and direct incoming telephone calls., • Manage visitor sign-in procedures and monitor facility entry., • Receive and distribute mail, packages, and deliveries., • Provide general information and assistance to visitors and staff., • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area., • Perform clerical tasks including filing, copying, data entry, and other administrative duties. Qualifications: • High school diploma or equivalent required., • Previous experience in customer service, recreation, activities, healthcare, or reception preferred., • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills., • Compassionate, patient, and enthusiastic personality., • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities., • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications., • Ability to work effectively with elderly residents and individuals with varying physical and cognitive abilities., • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Physical Requirements: • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and assist residents throughout the day., • Ability to lift and carry activity supplies as needed., • Ability to remain active during recreational programs and events.
