Job Description Lead Paralegal / Case Manager – Community Safety / Mass Torts Just Well Law PLLC | Austin, Texas Overview You are an experienced litigation paralegal who has worked in mass tort litigation and understands how complex cases move forward. You take pride in keeping cases organized, anticipating what attorneys need next, and making sure deadlines, filings, and discovery stay on track. You understand that great paralegals do not simply support litigation. They help drive it. We are hiring one Lead Paralegal / Case Manager to work directly with our Community Safety / Mass Torts attorneys and help manage these cases. Community Safety / Mass Torts Cases When communities are poisoned, we are there to help. Just Well represents thousands of clients across the country, including: • Communities affected by environmental contamination, • Military families exposed to contaminated water Reporting Relationship This position reports directly to the Community Safety / Mass Torts attorneys and works closely with the firm’s litigation team. Authority and Ownership This role has ownership over the day to day organization and management of case files and litigation workflow. Your ability to anticipate needs, maintain systems, and track deadlines ensures cases move forward efficiently. Responsibilities You will help manage complex toxic exposure litigation by: • Managing and organizing case files, pleadings, discovery materials, and correspondence, • Drafting initial versions of pleadings, discovery requests, motions, and other litigation documents, • Coordinating discovery, including, • drafting requests, • organizing document production, • summarizing depositions, • Maintaining litigation calendars and ensuring deadlines and filings are completed accurately and on time, • Preparing exhibits, presentations, and materials for mediation and trial, • Communicating regularly with clients so they feel informed, supported, and heard, • Coordinating with courts, experts, co counsel, and opposing counsel to keep cases moving, • Maintaining detailed notes and documentation in the firm’s case management systems, • Participating in litigation strategy discussions and team meetings, • Supporting attorneys in advancing complex Community Safety / Mass Torts litigation Education and Experience Candidates should have: • At least three years of paralegal or litigation case management experience, • Prior experience working on mass tort litigation, • Experience managing discovery and litigation deadlines, • Comfort with e filing systems, document management, and case management software, • Excellent written and verbal communication skills Qualities of the Ideal Candidate You are someone who is: • Highly organized and detail oriented, • Proactive and comfortable taking ownership of projects, • Able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in complex litigation, • Empathetic and professional when working with clients, • A team player who values collaboration and accountability, • Tech savvy and comfortable learning new systems, • Motivated by work that helps make communities safer Our Culture and Values Recovery We help our clients recover their health and financial well being.
