6 month contract - onsite - Location: 11500 North Mopac Expressway, Austin TX Pay $52.50/hour on W2 Seeking a Revenue Accountant to serve on the Global Revenue team as a key business partner to all stakeholders in our revenue recognition cycle. We seek a candidate that has a strong, broad understanding of the accounting requirements for revenue recognition under U.S. GAAP (ASC 606/IFRS 15), as well as an ability to apply those standards in a rapidly changing business environment. PERSONAL QUALITIES AND SKILLS: • Strong individual contributor and collaborator across global functions and regions., • Self-starter, with a strong sense of ownership and customer focus, • Keen attention to detail and organized, • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize and meet deadlines, • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, • Intellectual curiosity, • Innovative, adaptive and seeks continuous improvement, • Strong communication skills RESPONSIBILITIES: • Supports annual and quarterly revenue forecast and analysis for internal management reporting, • Reviews large sales transaction to ensure revenue recognition and deferred revenue is accurately recorded based on the terms of the agreement, • Completes monthly revenue accounting and close responsibilities, • Communicates technical issues related to revenue accounting, • Maintains up to date policies and procedures, checklists and 404 and 302 control documentation, • Coordinates meetings with stakeholders throughout the organization to gain understanding of new product offerings and makes recommendation for revenue recognition policy for same, • Prepares ad hoc analysis of revenue and deferred revenue, • Assists with Form 10-Q and Form 10-K revenue disclosures, • Assists in providing timely support for quarterly and annual external reviews and audits, • Maintains knowledge of accounting and reporting accounting developments affecting revenue accounting and reporting, summarizes same and communicates findings and recommendations to senior finance personnel MAJOR CHALLENGES: • Effectively communicating and coordinating on a global team, • Managing multiple priorities in a rapidly changing environment, • Managing multiple sources of data and information and ensuring all are included and appropriately summarized to provide timely accurate analysis to key decision makers KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: • CPA or equivalent preferred, • 2+ years accounting experience (Big 4, Industry or combination of both), • Proficient user of MS Office Software, including MS Excel, • Experience with Oracle, Hyperion, and Apollo is a plus
