    CZEN Restaurant is hiring a hands-on Sous Chef for our new Caribbean Asian Fusion restaurant, "CZEN". Chef responsibilities include studying existing recipes, setting up menus, preparing high-quality dishes and leading your team with the head chef. You should be able to delegate tasks to kitchen staff to ensure meals are prepared in a timely manner. You should be familiar with sanitation regulations. Responsibilities Ability to set up and prepare all food items; opening and closing duties; replenishment and rotation of stock Set up of non-food items for shift; high level of sanitation awareness and conscientiousness; professional, safe, and efficient manner. Inputting daily event sheets and daily reports. Production of menu items in a timely manner and in accordance with company standards. Ability to follow directions precisely and consistently; maintenance of work area and proper food storage; opening and closing duties. Adheres to company guidelines and house rules, always exceeds guest expectations. Assist in staffing, scheduling, training, and counseling of event staff. Ability to interact with guests and staff in order to ensure guest satisfaction. Must have extensive knowledge of food and beverage menu, specials and services offered. Ability to assure compliance with company service standards, company inventory and cash control procedures. Work as a team with fellow associates and manage and lead your culinary team Inform wait staff about daily specials Ensure appealing plate presentation Slightly modify recipes to meet customers’ needs and requests (e.g. reduce salt, remove dairy) Check freshness of food and discard out-of-date items Experiment with recipes and suggest new ingredients Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen area Skills Proven work experience as a Sous Chef. Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations and etiquette Advanced knowledge of culinary techniques. Sushi rolling & knowledge of Caribbean food is a plus. Leadership skills Ability to remain calm and undertake various tasks Excellent time management abilities Up-to-date knowledge of cooking techniques and recipes Familiarity with sanitation regulations Ability to multitask in a fast paced, team orientated setting. Must be able to read, speak and write in English. Ability to lift and transport food and other items weighing up to 30 pounds, occasionally 50 pounds. Ability to work extended hours, nights, weekends, and holidays. Must have sufficient mobility to perform assigned production tasks including: constant reaching, bending, stooping, wiping, pushing, and pulling for extended periods of time. Practice safe work habits, follow all safety policies and procedures and regulations, complete company-wide safety training and any additional job specific safety training.     MARC Academy and Department of Education (DOE) view family childcare as a respected and valued profession within the early care and education system in New York City. We seek to support and enhance the existing strengths of family childcare as birth-4 programs that promote continuous and responsive relationships, strengthen early learning skills, build resilience, and lay the foundation for all future learning. The primary role of the Education Specialist/Coach is to build strengths-based relationships with affiliated providers to support them as needed and, in particular, with implementing high quality play-based instruction. Responsibilities: ● Collaborate with the FCC Education Director, FCC Family Support Worker, and FCC Monitors to meet the needs of all children and families. ● Provide twice monthly strength-based practice-based coaching to a cohort of affiliated providers as they implement a mixed-age curriculum. ● Adapt and provide guidance to affiliated providers on the implementation of an evidence-based curriculum for mixed-age group settings that meets the individual needs of all children. ● Review and adapt appropriate curriculum supports and documents with affiliated providers that foster hands-on developmentally appropriate and relationship-based interactions with all children. ● Assist affiliated providers gathering observations of children and entering child assessment data in a timely manner and support its use for curriculum and lesson planning. ● Document all coaching sessions aligned with the DOE’s Early Childhood Framework for Quality (EFQ). ● Assist in ongoing outreach, enrollment, and all other administrative tasks. ● Support FCC Education Director in coordinating all required professional learning days –ongoing. ● Maintain relationships with community partners who provide mental health, special needs, and other support services for all affiliated providers and families. ● Create and regularly update Community Partner Resource Guide within FCC Network. ● Participate in twice-monthly FCC Network staff meetings to connect about individual providers, families, and coordinate all services. ● Participate in Network staff professional learning sessions delivered. ● Other tasks as assigned by FCC Education Director/FCC Director. ● Travel within FCC Network catchment area is REQUIRED Skills: ● Time management skills are essential Ability to multitask Must be a team player * Must be flexible with changing schedules and priorities. Must be organized/able to juggle multiple projects at once Skilled Communicator Appreciation for the unique needs of all providers and families. Qualifications ● BA/BS in early childhood or infant/toddler studies (required) ● Experience teaching children under six (required) ● Experience working in family childcare and/or with infants and toddlers (preferred)

Functions/Responsibilities  Interact frequently, affectionately, and respectfully by smiling, touching, and holding children.Speak in a friendly, calm, soft, courteous manner within close proximity of the child.  Respect and observe children's interests. Intervene when needed to maintain safety. Enhance children's play with language, toys and activities.  Communicate directly with each child at the child's level.  Be available and responsive to children's needs, questions, and requests.  Encourage and model social behavior and expectations which are developmentally appropriate.  Acknowledge feelings with sensitivity and demonstrate appropriate expression of emotions.  Practice positive discipline techniques in guiding children's behavior accordingly.  Be attentive, flexible and supportive of children and their families during transitions to and from classrooms. Curriculum  Implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum which reflects observations and assessments of individual children.  Design an environment which responds to children's individual developmental levels, physical and emotional needs and current interests by consulting appropriate ECE guidelines.  Provide a variety of developmentally appropriate materials and activities which foster social skills and encourage children to think, problem solve, question, and experiment.  Plan and implement child-oriented, self-initiated activities while limiting large group, staff-initiated activities.  Provide more than one option for group activity and maintain flexibility in changing planned activities, according to children's interests.  Create documentation of children's accomplishments through anecdotal notes, documentation panels and/or portfolios. Family Communication  Respond to family comments and concerns with sensitivity, interest, and respect. Maintain confidentiality.  Communicate verbally and in writing with families daily regarding the development and specific activities of the children in their primary care.  Plan and facilitate in regular family conferences to discuss orientation, transitions, and developmental goals for their child based on appropriate assessment tools.  Share resources with families through discussions, articles, family boards, newsletters, and community contacts. Physical Environment, Health, Safety and Nutrition  Maintain and follow all safety and health rules of the location  Always supervise children. Demonstrate awareness of entire group  Know the number of children in your group and maintain accurate attendance records throughout the day.  Complete appropriate paperwork (i.e., accidents, medication etc)  Organize a variety of materials on low, open shelves for children to use independently. Qualifications: NYS Teaching Certification (Birth -2 nd ), Masters or Bachelors in Degree Early Childhood Masters/Bachelor’s Degree in ECE or related field and must agree to study plan as required by DOH&DOE.
