American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN ED - Emergency Department for a travel nursing job in Chandler, Arizona. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: ED - Emergency Department, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 10/13/2025, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, nights, • Work in a 60-bed Level 1 Trauma Emergency Department in an acute care setting, • Patient population includes trauma, motor vehicle accidents, gunshot wounds, blunt and piercing trauma, stroke, myocardial infarction, high-risk OB, cardioversions, and conscious sedation cases, • Pediatric cases account for 11% of the population; patients under age 15 are stabilized and transferred, • Typical nurse to patient ratios are 1:3-4, • Shift requirements include days, mids, and nights with varying start times: 7a, 9a, 10a, 11a, 12p, 1p, 3p, 5p, 7p, • Must work a minimum of 4 weekend shifts per schedule period and 2 out of 3 holidays during the holiday season, • Floating required between nearby emergency departments (Gilbert and Chandler, 7 miles apart), • Bedside triage and fast track with 14 designated beds, • Uses Cerner EMR; GE Lifepack monitors; Puritan Bennett 840, Dreager, Vision Bipap, and V60 ventilators, • Responsibilities include rapid assessment and care of high acuity trauma and medical emergencies, • Work alongside a team of charge nurses, unit secretaries, paramedics, CNAs, and in-house physicians and midlevel providers, • Must demonstrate competency in sterile technique for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes during orientation, • Navy scrubs required, • Staffing includes 24/7 RT and pharmacy support with ER pharmacist available on days, • First day includes 2-3 days of unit-specific orientation, • Facility is a certified chest pain and stroke center, • Strict pass/fail policy on initial clinical test; failure results in disqualification for 6 months\n \n Requirements\n, • Active AZ or compact RN license required at time of consideration, • Minimum 2 years recent Level 1 Trauma and ER experience within the past year, • Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required, • Moderate conscious sedation competency testing required, • Must pass a dysrhythmia exam within 48 hours of offer with a maximum of 2 attempts, • Completion of a pass/fail simulation lab on first day of orientation, • Driver’s license required, • Must provide two professional references (one supervisor within last 12 months, one peer or supervisor within last 3 years) with dates of employment and rehire eligibility, • Candidates must not have been employed by CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity within the previous year, • Permanent residence must be at least 50 miles from the facility\n Benefits\n, • High Pay and Bonuses, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options, • 401(k) Plan, • Weekly Payroll Deposit, • Free Online CEUs, • Generous Housing Allowance, • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements, • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
