Job Description Job Title: Host/Hostess Department: Outlets FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (Hourly) Position Pay: $19.00 per hour Hours: This position would be flexible to work both AM and PM shifts to provide coverage as needed Weekend coverage is needed consistently: If you are looking for weekends off, this is not the job for you Reports to: General Manager Location: Allegria Hotel – 80 West Broadway, Long Beach NY 11561 Summary: • Welcome every guest with a bright, beautiful smile and a friendly greeting, • Determine the guests’ needs and offer kind or generous treatment, • Seat guests immediately, if possible, • Help guests feel welcome and comfortable, • Remain seamlessly organized, • Monitor the flow of business, • Offer thoughtful farewells Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Guest Interactions • Open doors as guests enter the restaurant, • Greet every guest with a bright, welcoming smile and a friendly welcome immediately as they enter the restaurant, • Seat guests at tables immediately, if possible, • Help guests feel welcome and comfortable, • Complete Wait Sheets accurately, • Complete Table Count Sheets accurately, • Answer the telephone with a smile, • Answer guest questions, • Offer a thoughtful farewell as guests leave the restaurant, • Use specified techniques to please unhappy guests, • Open doors as guests exit the restaurant, • Assist servers by pre-bussing tables, • Clean tables, chairs, booths, and table bases with sanitizing solution, • Sweep or Bissell floors To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Math Ability: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of order processing systems, word processing, spreadsheet, design, internet, and project management software. Education/Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent. Related experiences service guests.
