About the Role The Therapist will be a key member of Rising Ground’s Community-Based Services for Survivors of Trauma, Violence, and Crime, delivering compassionate, trauma-informed care that fosters healing and recovery. We are looking for a therapist who is deeply committed to anti-oppressive practice, social justice, and restorative justice principles, helping to create a safe and inclusive space for survivors from diverse, historically marginalized communities. This position will be based out of our Bronx location, with the opportunity to work from our Harlem office and opportunity for a remote/hybrid schedule. In this role, the therapist will provide individual and group therapy, using a holistic, culturally sensitive approach that prioritizes the unique needs of trauma survivors. By addressing the psychological, emotional, and social impacts of trauma, the therapist will play a pivotal role in the healing process, drawing on a deep sense of empathy and clinical expertise. This position requires a passion for social equity and restorative practices, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team. The therapist will utilize various therapeutic modalities to meet clients’ needs, while also supporting them in navigating complex systems such as housing, healthcare, and justice services. By embracing cultural humility and a strengths-based approach, the therapist will advocate for survivors as they work toward stability and healing. What You’ll Do • Provide trauma-informed therapeutic individual, family, group, and crisis services., • Assess and plan personalized treatment using trauma-informed, evidence-based models that integrate emotional, psychological, and community-based support through a strengths-based approach., • Conduct crisis intervention and offer emotional support as needed, ensuring survivor safety and stabilization., • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide holistic care, including legal advocacy, housing assistance, and medical referrals., • Coordinate with community organizations to ensure clients have access to services and resources., • Implement restorative justice techniques such as mediation, support circles, and community-building activities to foster healing and reconciliation for survivors., • Support survivors in navigating the emotional impact of trauma, helping them regain control through empowerment and self-advocacy., • Participate in community presentations and outreach to raise awareness about the program and build partnerships with local organizations., • Participate in weekly individual supervision, team meetings, and training sessions., • Mentor and supervise interns as needed, contributing to Rising Ground’s professional development initiatives., • Maintain accurate case files., • Complete all required paperwork in a timely manner. Your Qualifications • Master’s degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or a related field. LMSW, or LMHC preferred., • Licensure required within 6 months of hire., • Proven experience providing clinical services to survivors of trauma and violence, with a strong foundation in trauma-informed, anti-oppressive practices., • Commitment to social justice and cultural humility, with extensive experience working with marginalized populations., • Skilled in both clinical case management and delivering evidence-based, trauma-focused psychotherapy., • Strong abilities in clinical assessment, therapeutic services and treatment planning, with a person- centered approach., • Adaptability and flexibility in managing diverse caseloads, working independently, and collaborating effectively in a multidisciplinary team setting., • Exceptional interpersonal, documentation, and organizational skills., • Training in Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP), Internal Family Systems (IFS), or similar evidence- based practices for trauma recovery is preferred., • Deep understanding of trauma and violence dynamics and the impact on survivors., • Proficiency in supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds with varying identities and life experiences., • Commitment to trauma-informed and person-centered practice., • A passion for incorporating reflective practices on race, oppression, and diversity into clinical work, fostering a more inclusive and healing environment. Supervisory Responsibility Opportunity to mentor/supervise MSW interns Work Environment: Hybrid (In-office and remote), with flexibility to meet clients at various community locations or virtually. This position will be based out of our Bronx location, with the opportunity to work from our Harlem office and opportunity for a remote/hybrid schedule.
