EOE POSITION SUMMARY: CRED is a cohort-based vocational training program for at-risk individuals between the ages of 18-40 years old. The program provides classroom instruction, case management services, internship opportunities, and job placement services designed to help clients earn a Commercial Driver’s License and obtain employment in the transportation industry. The Social Worker will be responsible for providing comprehensive case management services including, but not limited to, mental health support, career counseling, personal guidance and development, life skills, and referrals. The Social Worker will work in both individual and group settings to help clients overcome personal and professional barriers. The individual selected for this position will be under the direct supervision of the CRED Program Director, will conduct themselves in a professional manner, and will comply with all standards set forth by United Activities Unlimited and the NYC Department of Youth & Community Development. PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to): • Conduct intake interviews to understand each client’s individual needs, strengths, and goals., • Collect all required program documentation from clients, including enrollment, outcome, and follow-up paperwork., • Work with clients to develop an Individual Service Strategy (ISS) that reflects SMART short-and-long-term goals., • Provide case management services including regular check-ins to assess progress towards personal and professional goals., • Provide individual and group counseling, including but not limited to, mental health, behavior management, and mediation services., • Work collaboratively with other CRED staff members to conduct case planning and draft case notes according to DYCD requirements., • Refer clients in need of greater support to community based social service providers., • Maintain positive working relationships with social services agencies and other community partners to enrich programming, internship, and employment opportunities in alignment with client’s interests and ISS., • Assist other CRED staff members with conducting follow-up services, including obtaining compliance documentation from former clients., • Collect, maintain, and audit client files for completion and accuracy in accordance with DYCD and UAU policies., • Participate in team meetings, conferences, professional development trainings, and other program-related events and activities., • Work collaboratively with other CRED staff members to ensure the program meets all DYCD goals, deliverables, and deadlines., • Assist with other departmental duties and projects as needed. JOB QUALIFICATIONS: • Master's degree, required, • Must possess either a valid LMSW, LMHC or LCSW, • 3+ years of relevant supervisory experience, required, • 2+ years of experience with mental health counseling, required, • Strong problem solving, verbal and written communication skills, • Experience using Microsoft Excel/Word/PowerPoint and the G-Suite platforms, • Ability to stay organized while managing multiple assignments simultaneously, • Demonstrated ability to conduct and complete work independently, including meeting deadlines, while contributing to a collaborative team effort, • Able to effectively deliver instruction to elevate client’s transferable skills, academic proficiency, and socioemotional capacity, • Excels working in a collaborative environment to achieve target objects and outcomes, • Demonstrates understanding and value of individuals different capacities, cultures, and abilities, • Respect for diverse racial, socio-economic, ethnic, academic, religious, and cultural backgrounds and identities PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. QUALIFICATIONS: Persons employed as an Independent Living Skills and Training provider must be a/an: 1. Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW-licensed by the NYS Education Department);, 2. Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW-licensed by the NYS Education Department);, 3. Individual with a Doctorate or Master of Social Work degree;, 4. Individual with a Doctorate or Master of Psychology degree;, 5. Licensed Physical Therapist (licensed by the NYS Education Department);, 6. Registered Professional Nurse (licensed by the NYS Education Department);, 7. Certified Teacher of Students with Disabilities (certified by the NYS Education Department);, 8. Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (certified as a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) by the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification);, 9. Licensed Speech Pathologist (licensed by the NYS Education Department); or, 10. Licensed Occupational Therapist (licensed by the NYS Education Department); AND Must have, at a minimum, one (1) year of experience completing assessments of ADLs/IADLs, developing a comprehensive service plan, teaching individuals with Traumatic Brain Injury to be more functionally independent; OR Be an individual with a Bachelor’s degree and three (3) years of experience completing assessments of ADLs and IADLs, developing comprehensive service plans and teaching individuals with Traumatic Brain Injury to be more functionally independent; OR Be an individual with an Associate’s degree and five (5) years of experience completing assessments of ADLs and IADLs, developing a comprehensive service plan, teaching individuals with Traumatic Brain Injury to be more functionally independent.     Status: Non-Exempt Position: Full-time Location: In-person, Lower East Side/East Village, Manhattan Cooper Square Mutual Housing Association Management (“CSMHAM”) is a non-profit, low-income housing organization on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. We serve as the property manager to Cooper Square Mutual Housing II HDFC (“MHA II”), a residential cooperative made up of 21 buildings. Our primary mission is to manage and preserve the MHA II co-op so that it is permanently affordable for multiple generations of low-income residents. Our style of property management centers on resident engagement and community preservation. A key element to our unique and successful model is that residents who live in our housing also sit on our board of directors. Resident Relations Specialists are the primary point of contact between residents and their property management organization. The Resident Relations Specialist (RRS) works with residents and staff to identify and resolve a wide variety of issues including: · building and apt. maintenance issues, · building and apt. repair issues, · resident-involved issues that can impact the household or building, (clutter, unsanitary conditions, criminal activity, etc.) · non-payment issues, · conflicts between residents. The RRS conducts regular building meetings to get feedback from residents and share information. The RRS also conducts regular apartment and building-wide inspections to assess housing conditions and other issue that need to be addressed. This is a property management position that also involves activities typically associated with resident advocacy, social work and tenant organizing. The Resident Relations Specialists work closely with, and reports directly to, the Director Operations. This is an in-person, public facing position. Specific Responsibilities · Communicate with residents and address resident concerns. · Work with staff and residents to identify and correct housing conditions through an internal work order system. Address and track housing code violations as needed. · Work with staff and residents to address rent arrears issues. · Send late notices and house rules violation letters as needed. · Inspect apartments and buildings to identify conditions that impact residents’ quality of life. · Conduct resident wellness visits as needed. · Advertise, facilitate and attend resident building meetings. · Attend and participate in other community meetings and staff meetings. · Maintain orderly and accurate resident records and files. Create and track “change orders” and enter other relevant information into the organizational database. · Perform other duties as needed. QUALIFICATIONS · Minimum of one-year experience with property management, tenant advocacy or equivalent position. · Excellent follow-up and problem solving skills. · Excellent people skills: ability to work with and communicate well with all types of residents and all levels of staff. · Effective communication skills, including basic writing skills (ability to write letters, fill out forms, compose emails, create notices, etc.) and public speaking skills. · Basic understanding of NYC housing rules (including Housing Maintenance Code) and of tenant/co-op shareholder rights. · Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding resident personal information and organizational information is essential. · Ability to stay organized and maintain records and files. · Ability to manage multiple tasks and shift priorities according to urgency. · Ability to work with partner organizations to connect eligible residents to social service programs, benefits and other community resources. · Proficiency in basic Microsoft Office programs. · Experience using a workplace/client-based database.
