Job Summary The Academy Charter School custodian will clean and maintain school facility to ensure a safe, secure and comfortable environment conducive to student learning. Responsibilities • Clean classrooms, rest rooms, hallways, multipurpose room, offices and all interior rooms during the day, • Floor care including mopping, stripping and waxing, • Daily trash removal and cleaning of all receptacles, • Set up and cleans dining area before, between, and during breakfast and/or lunch periods, • Respond to emergency cleanups during the day, • Perform routine grounds-keeping duties, including picking up litter, maintenance of sidewalk areas, and salting of sidewalk, • Sets up and arranges furniture for assemblies, meetings and special events, • Secure, protect and ensure the proper usage and maintenance of all custodial equipment, • Assist with shipping and receiving of packages, parcels and large items, • Light moving and carpentry, • Open and close facilities and provide access to classrooms or offices during the normal school week, after hours, and occasionally weekends as directed, • Perform walk through of the facility during the day in order to ensure the building and the outer perimeters are clean and safe; ensure all bathrooms are properly stocked at all times, • Perform other related duties as required and assigned The Academy is committed to pursuing and hiring a diverse workforce and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. This role is hands‑on and includes conduit work, wiring, lighting, panel work, and troubleshooting electrical systems ranging from 120 to 480 volts. Electricians in this role work from drawings while maintaining safety, quality, and efficiency on active job sites. Responsibilities • Install and wire lighting systems, panels, boxes, outlets, and electrical devices, • Run and bend conduit of various sizes to support clean, code‑compliant installations, • Read and follow electrical blueprints and layouts, • Pull, terminate, and label wire for power and lighting systems, • Perform rough‑in work including MC and BX cable, • Assist with panel wiring and branch circuits for 120–480V systems, • Troubleshoot electrical issues and assist with repairs as needed, • Use hand tools, cordless drills, and standard electrical equipment safely, • Work with other electricians and site personnel to complete tasks efficiently, • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, • Follow OSHA, NEC, and site‑specific safety requirements Requirements • Junior Mechanic: 3–5 years of commercial electrical experience, • Mechanic: 5–10 years of commercial electrical experience, • Strong conduit bending and installation skills, • Experience installing lighting, outlets, panels, and branch circuits, • Ability to work with 120–480 volt systems, • Ability to read blueprints and electrical drawings, • OSHA 30 required, • Own basic hand tools and cordless drill, • Strong safety awareness and reliabilits Why Work Here?
