Transition patients to overnight care as needed and communicate effectively with referral hospitals to ensure continuity of patient care. Other Duties and Responsibilities * Participate in rounds as incoming or exiting doctor at beginning and end of shifts. * Disseminate knowledge throughout staff to improve the level of care and communication provided hospital partners, to both the patient and the client. * Performs additional duties as assigned. Nature of Supervision: In all activities related to the care of individual patients, the Veterinarian will take direct supervision from the Hospital Medical Leader or Area Medical Director. The Veterinarian has discretion related to decisions regarding patient care, however, it is imperative that the Veterinarian uphold the standards set forth in the Petco Veterinary SOPs. The Veterinarian should expect to receive direction and guidance based on electronic medical record review from the Hospital Medical Leader or Area Medical Director regarding patient decisions and should accept such feedback as a means to elevate patient care in the hospital. All hospital veterinarians should work together in a collegial fashion and are expected to behave in a professional and personable manner. Planning and Problem Solving: Problem solving is at the heart of veterinary medicine, and it is expected that any successful candidate will possess excellent problem-solving skills that allow expeditious diagnosis of patient problems. Sun River Health is seeking a full-time Clinical Program Director for the A31 position at Westchester Square. Position Summary The A31 Clinical Program Director provides leadership and acts as a role model for all personnel in the planning and delivery of client services. He/she directs program operations and collaborates with all departments to develop, deliver, and evaluate the clinical program services provided to the Sun River Health clients. The Program Director directly supervises all administrative and case management staff and collaboratively supervises all facilities and plant operations at the program site. This position ensures that concrete services are provided to clients in accordance with New York State Office of Mental Health requirements as well as agency policies, procedures, and quality standards. Where physical defects are detected, assists the parent in contacting the available professional resources for diagnosis and treatment. * Provides emergency medical care for all employees and arranges for care and follow-up at an appropriate emergency room or at the facility designated by the district. * Counsels parents, teachers and students concerning medical and health related information. Instructs teaches and other staff regarding ‘the signs and symptoms of diseases of individual students that would indicate that they need immediate health services. * Conducts tuberculin screening programs on staff and students as mandated by the New Jersey State Department of Health and Education. * Reviews every medical record annually to provide information to parents and administration concerning the immunization status of all school students as is required by law. * Provide input into health education programs by being the health resource person in the school.
