Examples of STEM classes include (but are not limited to): Coding with Scratch, Freaky Forces + Elusive Energies, Rockin' Robotics, and our "I Wanna Be..." series featuring Detective, Animator, and Marine Biologist! The opportunity in Queens focuses on coding and robotics classes during Fall 2025. As a Launch Instructor you are expected to: • Provide top quality instruction utilizing proven Launch methods, curriculum, and provided materials, • Enthusiastically engage students during instructional sessions, • Help students gain confidence in their ability to learn and succeed, • Constantly assess and consider ways to improve classroom experience, • Maintain regular communications with the Launch Program Coordinators Requirements • For STEM classes, subject matter expertise in related sciences, tech, or math; A passion and skill for building hands-on projects with kids; Ability to code using Scratch is a requirement., • Strong desire to teach children, • Personable, friendly, reliable and communicative, • Previous experience working with students as a tutor or in a similar capacity, • A relatively flexible schedule and the ability to commit to servicing students for an extended duration, preferably a full academic year, • $25 per hour, with assignments approximately 2 hours in duration, • For STEM classes, all curriculum and materials are provided (you do not need to create lesson plans), • Part-time position
