Job Description The Senior Accountant is responsible for preparing, analyzing, and reviewing financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). This role supports the finance function through account reconciliation, journal entries, budgeting, and month-end close activities. The position also involves identifying and resolving complex accounting issues, ensuring compliance, and contributing to financial reporting accuracy. Key Responsibilities • Prepare, analyze, and reconcile general ledger accounts in a timely manner, • Ensure accuracy and compliance of financial records with accounting standards, • Prepare and post journal entries and support month-end and year-end close processes, • Maintain detailed financial documentation including balance sheets and profit & loss statements, • Perform daily cash reconciliations and investigate discrepancies, • Review vendor statements and manage accounts payable processes, including invoice verification and payment processing, • Maintain and update vendor master records to ensure accuracy and completeness, • Assist in the preparation and analysis of annual budgets, including capital and operating budgets, • Upload and manage budget data within accounting systems, • Communicate effectively with internal teams, auditors, financial institutions, and external stakeholders, • Prepare audit workpapers and support internal and external audit processes, • Maintain accurate records of cash transactions, transfers, and wire activities, • Identify accounting issues and internal control weaknesses; recommend solutions to management, • Support special projects and cross-functional accounting initiatives, • Ensure timely communication of deadlines through monthly close calendars Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience), • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation required, • Minimum 4+ years of accounting experience (10+ years strongly preferred), • Strong knowledge and application of GAAP, • Experience with general ledger, reconciliations, and financial reporting, • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and/or Google Workspace tools, • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines, • Experience in healthcare or hospital accounting - preferred, • Experience with ERP systems such as PeopleSoft or Lawson - preferred, • Background in treasury and debt management - preferred Important Details: • 25-week contract position (extension possibly), • Shift is Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM, 40 hrs/week, • Location is Edison, NJ 08837, • Pay Rate for Locals: $45 - $48 hourly Call to Action: • Spots Are Filling Quickly — Apply Now!
