Job DescriptionMaintenance Technician Job Description We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to ensure the smooth operation of our building facilities and equipment. You will play a crucial role in maintaining electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems, using a variety of tools and testing devices. This position requires a proactive approach to prevent potential issues, ensuring the efficiency and safety of our operations. Responsibilities • Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure machines run smoothly and building systems operate efficiently., • Diagnose mechanical problems using blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs., • Assemble, install, or repair wiring, electrical or electronic components, pipe systems, plumbing, machinery, or equipment., • Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, and perform other maintenance actions., • Clean or lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, or other parts of machinery., • Adjust functional parts of devices or control instruments using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, or straightedges., • Repair or replace defective equipment parts using hand tools and power tools, then reassemble equipment., • Record type and cost of maintenance or repair work., • Perform preventative maintenance and like-in-kind repair and replacement of HVAC equipment., • Repair and replace electrical fixtures and ballasts, and troubleshoot lighting and fixtures., • Maintain safe operation and maintenance of building facilities, electrical and mechanical systems, and plumbing., • Conduct surveys and inventories, perform preventive maintenance activities, and respond to customer complaints., • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, schematics, and written technical documents to troubleshoot and make repairs., • Perform daily chemical tests on water systems and adjust chemical mixtures and feed rates., • Proficiency in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, mechanical, and preventive maintenance., • Experience with facilities maintenance, repair, and wiring., • Ability to use common hand and power tools, precision measuring instruments, and electrical and electronic testing devices., • Minimum of eight years of related experience and/or training., • High school diploma or GED required; technical school and/or degree a plus., • Possession and maintenance of a CT driver’s license., • Certificates in welding, boiler repair, electronics, auto repair, and related fields are a plus., • Ability to communicate effectively in one-on-one and group settings, complete task sheets, and follow SOPs., • Knowledge of auto mechanics and ability to operate a plow truck. Work Environment The work environment is hot, and the position operates on the first shift from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Sunday through Thursday. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $29.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
