Your day-to-day You’ll start from home, review assignments in Salesforce Lightning, and head to a customer’s shop. Some days you’re installing and commissioning a new multi-axis machining center; other days you’re diagnosing a tricky control fault using PLC ladder diagrams, electrical/pneumatic/hydraulic schematics, and precision test equipment. You’ll calibrate, align, replace major assemblies, and train operators—always with safety and customer satisfaction front and center. What you will do • Install, commission, calibrate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair CNC lathes, mills, and multi-function machining centers, plus accessory equipment at customer facilities., • Handle service calls that may include operator training, system networking, software applications, preventive maintenance, major assembly replacements/alignments, overhauls/refurbishments, upgrades/retrofits, and un-installation services., • Serve as the communication bridge between customers and the Service Group of the Robert E. Morris Company; capture and relay voice-of-customer feedback., • Apply machine tool manuals, technical documents, and internal/external resources to efficiently diagnose and resolve issues across electrical, mechanical, electro-mechanical, and control systems., • Use Salesforce Lightning Customer Support to document and manage service activity., • Travel daily within your territory; occasional overnight hotel stays for remote service or training., • Work safely, continuously build technical and soft skills, and help strengthen brand dedication through outstanding service. What you bring, • Ability or willingness to learn to read mechanical drawings; electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics; and PLC ladder logic, using appropriate test instruments., • Clear verbal/written communication and strong customer-facing skills—both in person and by phone; professional presence., • Adaptability and poise when priorities shift or delays occur., • Basic computer proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook., • Foundational electro-mechanical aptitude (motors, drives, transformers); CNC machine tool manufacturing/installation/operation/maintenance/repair experience or shop background is a plus., • Sound mechanical reasoning, logical troubleshooting, and rational decision-making. Work setting, • Manufacturing/machining environments with potential exposure to noise, electricity, chemicals, heavy equipment, and other automated or manual machinery, plus time in office and training settings at the Robert E.
