Job DescriptionJob Title: CNC Lathe MachinistJob Description The CNC Lathe Machinist sets up, programs, and operates CNC lathes to produce tight-tolerance, complex shaft components in exotic materials. This role focuses on developing efficient and reliable machining processes, performing in-process inspections, and adjusting programs to maintain accuracy and quality in a collaborative team environment. Responsibilities • Work closely with existing team members to develop efficient, reliable, and repeatable CNC lathe machining processes., • Develop setups and create programs for first-time shaft production, ensuring accuracy and adherence to specifications., • Follow established processes, programs, and setups for repeat shaft production to maintain consistency and quality., • Perform in-process inspection of parts using appropriate measuring tools and accurately record all measurements., • Review and tweak CNC programs to achieve required accuracy on tight tolerance features and complex geometries., • Operate CNC lathes equipped with steady rests and tail stocks to machine complex shafts from exotic materials., • Read and interpret blueprints to determine machining requirements, dimensions, and tolerances., • Utilize calipers and other precision measuring instruments to verify part dimensions and ensure compliance with specifications., • Work with DN Solutions (PUMA) lathes featuring Fanuc 0i-Plus controls and related CNC machining equipment., • Contribute to overall team success by completing related machining tasks and supporting continuous improvement efforts.Essential Skills, • Hands-on experience operating CNC lathes with steady rest and tail stock., • Proficiency in machining tight tolerance, complex shaft work in exotic materials., • Ability to develop CNC lathe setups and programs for new shaft components., • Skill in following and optimizing existing processes and setups for repeat production., • Experience working with DN Solutions (PUMA) lathes equipped with Fanuc 0i-Plus control., • Strong CNC machining and programming capabilities for lathe operations., • Ability to read and interpret blueprints for precision machining., • Proficiency using calipers and other precision measuring tools for in-process inspection., • Attention to detail and accuracy when working with tight tolerance features.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Background in complex shaft machining in a production or job-shop environment., • Familiarity with Fanuc-based CNC controls beyond Fanuc 0i-Plus., • Experience working with a variety of exotic materials such as high-strength alloys and specialty metals., • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within a machining team., • Strong problem-solving skills for resolving machining and dimensional issues., • Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous process improvement.Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Kenilworth, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $104000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
