This role is crucial in ensuring that our clients receive the best possible care and support from the moment they reach out to us. Job Overview As a Full-time Intake Specialist, you will be the first point of contact for individuals seeking our services. Your primary responsibility will be to gather essential information from clients, assess their needs, and guide them through the initial stages of our support process. This position requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive information with care and confidentiality. Key Responsibilities • Answer incoming phone calls and respond to email inquiries in a timely and professional manner, • Conduct initial assessments to determine client needs and eligibility for various programs and services, • Accurately input client information into our database management system, • Explain available services, programs, and resources to clients, • Schedule appointments and follow-up consultations for clients with appropriate staff members, • Maintain detailed and organized client records, • Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth client transitions and continuity of care, • Assist in the development and implementation of intake procedures and policies, • Participate in team meetings and contribute to improving the intake process, • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations and other relevant privacy laws, • Provide basic emotional support and crisis intervention when necessary, • Generate reports on intake activities and client demographics as required, • Stay updated on available community resources and referral options, • Assist with administrative tasks related to the intake processQualificationsRequired:, • High school diploma or equivalent, • 0-1 years of work experience in a related field (customer service, healthcare, social services, etc.), • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills, • Strong phone etiquette and verbal communication abilities, • Proficiency in using computer systems and database management software, • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment, • Empathetic and patient demeanor when interacting with clients, • Basic understanding of confidentiality practices and privacy regulationsPreferred:, • Associate's degree in social work, psychology, or a related field, • Experience working in a non-profit or social services organization, • Bilingual skills (English and Spanish), • Familiarity with community resources in Missouri or MichiganEssential Skills, • Active Listening: Ability to give full attention to clients, understand their concerns, and ask appropriate questions
