Marketing and Promotion: • Assist in developing and executing marketing strategies to attract and retain guests., • Plan and participate in activations, special events, and promotions, • Utilize social media and other platforms to promote the establishment. Leadership and Development: • Act as a role model and leader for staff, demonstrating professionalism and dedication., • Support the General Manager in strategic planning and decision-making., • Take on the General Manager’s responsibilities in their absence., • Continuously seek opportunities for professional growth and development. REQUIREMENTS: • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a senior management position overseeing a full-service restaurant, • Proven track record of leading high-caliber, upscale service, • Proven experience working with event execution, • Strong knowledge of industry service protocols and hospitality standards, • Ability to manage inventory and control prime costs, • A self-driven, results-oriented, and proactive attitude, • Ability to remain composed under pressure and solve problems quickly, • Strong strategic planning skills, with an emphasis on delivering, executing and assessing action plans, • Strong sense of initiative, including anticipating guest or operational needs, • Superior ability to effectively train, coach, evaluate, and discipline direct reports, • Superior ability to lead dynamic and motivating pre-shift meetings and training sessions, • Superior conflict resolution skills, • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to consistently meet deadlines, • Ability to lead weekly meetings with actionable items, • Skilled at collaboration and communication with the BOH, • Understands and applies environmental awareness (music, temperature, lighting, cleanliness), • Proficiency with MarginEdge restaurant management software, or a similar program, • Proficiency in POS systems, • Proficiency in reservation systems with the ability to act as a Maitre D, • Proficiency in event management software (Triple Seat), • NYC Food Protection Certificate, • Knowledge of health and safety regulations, • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays., • Must be authorized to work in the US. SUMMARY New York Edge is seeking passionate and enthusiastic people to fill the role of Music Specialist. In this role, you will organize, lead, and promote interest in music activities. Instructors utilize and adapt the New York State Arts Learning Standards to create engaging and rewarding activities that encourage participation in New York Edge programs. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS * Establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order among the students for whom they are responsible. * Organize, lead, and promote interest in arts activities such as music, drumming, and percussion. * Organize performance groups and direct their rehearsals. * Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects, and communicate those objectives to students. * Ascertain and interpret group interests, evaluate equipment and facilities, and adapt activities to meet the student’s needs. * Prepare materials and classrooms for class activities. * Explain principles, techniques, and safety procedures to participants in the activities and demonstrate the use of materials and equipment. * Evaluate activities to determine if they are producing desired results. * Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' needs and interests. * Progressive development of student skills leading to a final project REQUIRED SKILLS * Must be knowledgeable and skilled in various performing arts and have prior experience successfully teaching and instructing youth. * Must be able to follow a curriculum * Must be responsible, reliable, and punctual! * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required. * May be required to walk up and down stairs. * May have to lift or move objects/materials as needed. * Work is performed mostly within a New York City Public School but may be required to interact with the community at-large during trips or events. QUALIFICATIONS * High School Diploma or Equivalent required; some college preferred * A minimum of one year of work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is required. * A minimum of one year of coaching experience is required. * Must have passion for New York Edge's mission and demonstrated interest in education and youth development. * Candidates qualified to lead instruction in more than one activity are also preferred. WORK SCHEDULE * 9-15 hours per week. * Monday through Friday -- 2:30 pm - 5:30 pm The Music Specialist will be required to report to the school and interact with staff, students, parents, and the school administration. At the time of offer and acceptance, the job requires safety and security clearances through the Department of Education and Department of Health.
