Job Description Summary: The Senior Director is responsible for the general oversight of service delivery in the Drop-in, special events, outreach component, all aspects of sexual health component, , the food program and all trainings around staff development at Streetwork Uptown Drop-in center. Streetwork’s programs are innovative outreach-counseling programs for homeless youth, which use a harm reduction approach. Services include counseling, HIV prevention, case management, drop-in, daily living services, meals, groups acupuncture, legal services, and medical care Responsibilities: Youth Program Responsibilities For Program and Client-Facing Staff: Learn and integrate a trauma-informed, client-centered approach, using an anti-oppressive lens, into your work with clients. • For Program and Supervisors Supporting Client-Facing Staff: Learn and integrate a trauma-informed, client-centered approach, using an anti-oppressive lens, into your work with clients. Coach and guide staff in their client practice that reflects these approaches, • Provide weekly supervision to director and supervisory level staff. Provide oversight to Mental Health Hub in managing all clinical activities in in mental health care to clients., • Participate in funder meetings to ensure contractual obligations are met, • Provide supervisory oversight to the Manager of the Street Outreach, Assistant Director Drop-in and Supervising Program Coordinator in ensuring fulfillment of all contract and reporting requirements for Streetwork Uptown site: drop-in, outreach, peer education program sexual health group programming,, • Supervise collaborative hiring process to fill vacancies at Streetwork Uptown site:, • Supervise and manage complex scheduling for large program to ensure adequate coverage for all in house and outreach services., • Support Associate Vice President with all decisions regarding programs’ personnel and program development., • Manage and provide oversight of all staff training to ensure on-going staff development and skill enhancement., • Represent program in DYCD monthly provider meetings, • Support and manage consultative relationships with process facilitators, psychiatrist, medical and legal service provides., • Participate in meeting with funders and prospect donors in highlighting program, • Work with development in submission of RFP’s, • Co-coordinate weekly staff development day at Streetwork Uptown., • Support Associate Vice President with the development and implementation of program policies., • Participate in Streetwork’s and agency wide leadership meetings., • Represent Streetwork on New York City Coalition for Homeless Youth advocacy group, • Network and advocate for homeless services and youth programs in community, media and government, • Advocate, on an as needed basis, for clients in support of front-line staff and supervisory efforts, • Assume management responsibilities in absence of other supervisory staff Required: • A Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent experience., • Extensive experience providing program development, supervision and management. 5 years’ experience or 3 years at Streetwork., • Three (3) years’ experience providing supervision (Specific skills), • Clear and concise verbal and written communication skill, • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, • Ability to work independently, • Comprehensive management, supervisory and leadership skills, • Experience working with the program population, • Experience using a harm reduction philosophy in supervisory or direct service positions Tasks may involve exposure to blood, bodily fluid, or tissues If hired, I agree to abide by all of Safe Horizon’s rules and regulations, and understand that, if employed, my employment may be terminated with or without cause, and with or without notice, at any time, at the option of either the company or me.
