The Legal Operations Paralegal is a key member of the Legal Department and supports the Chief Legal Officer (CLO) in advancing the department’s day-to-day operations and priorities. This position is responsible for executing and improving core legal operations processes to enhance efficiency, consistency, and client service. The role combines operational management, legal research, and administrative oversight, with a particular focus on financial and compliance workflows. What are Your Key Responsibilities? • Legal Operations and Process Support, • Design, document, and enhance legal workflows, including client onboarding, conflict checks, engagement letters, and jurisdictional risk analysis., • Manage subcontractor onboarding, ensuring compliance with internal and client requirements., • Maintain and update template agreements and support continuous process improvements., • Conduct periodic internal audits and support readiness for external audits., • Assist with legal department training sessions and materials., • Support implementation and configuration of legal technology tools in coordination with IT., • Oversee legal vendors and projects, including SOW collection, budget tracking, and deadline monitoring., • Own the maintenance of compliance documentation and records to ensure governance standards are met., • Budgeting, • Track and monitor legal department expenditures and assist with quarterly forecasts., • Prepare and maintain budget roll-up reports., • Professional Licensing, Compliance, and Corporate Governance, • Maintain the firm’s professional licenses to ensure accuracy and prevent lapses., • Audit compliance with regulations governing investigations and diligence services., • Maintain and coordinate corporate governance documentation and serve as liaison with corporate services providers in the U.S. and internationally., • Legal Research, • Conduct targeted legal research on topics such as data privacy, employment, licensing, subpoenas, insurance, and cross-border transactions., • Summarize findings to support decision-making by the CLO and senior leadership., • Collaboration and Firm Citizenship, • Build strong working relationships across departments and offices., • Communicate clearly on best practices and initiatives with leadership and key stakeholders., • Serve as a backup member of the case intake team when needed. What Makes You a Great Fit: • Experience: 3–5 years in a paralegal or legal operations role within a corporate legal department or professional services firm., • Analytical Thinking: Able to identify issues, apply sound reasoning, and propose practical solutions., • Attention to Detail: Ensures precision and consistency across all deliverables., • Technical Skills: Strong records management, contract administration, and working knowledge of legal technology tools., • Legal Research: Proficient in research tools and analysis to provide accurate and timely insights., • Communication: Clear, professional writing and confident communication with diverse stakeholders., • Collaboration: Demonstrates discretion, sound judgment, and an ability to work cross-functionally., • Technology Proficiency: Advanced Excel and Outlook skills with strong familiarity in Word and Teams., • Education: Undergraduate degree preferred; paralegal experience required.
