Job Description Our organization is in search of an Administrative Medical Director for a Primary Care Outpatient Clinic located on Columbus Avenue! The Administrative Medical Director will play a pivotal role in providing both clinical and administrative leadership for a bustling primary care outpatient clinic. This position is tasked with ensuring the delivery of exceptional, patient-focused care, enhancing clinical operations, managing personnel, and aiding in the strategic growth and success of the practice within our health system. The Medical Director will act as a vital link among clinical staff, administration, and patients, promoting a collaborative and efficient workplace. This role reports directly to the Division Chief of General Internal Medicine at our facility. Key Responsibilities:Clinical Leadership & Quality Improvement: • Offer clinical oversight and direction to all medical personnel, including physicians and advanced practice providers., • Manage and support all non-faculty clinical staff, such as nursing teams, Medical Assistants, Certified Diabetes Educators, and other essential clinical roles., • Lead initiatives aimed at enhancing clinical quality, patient safety, and outcomes, grounded in evidence-based practices and performance metrics., • Supervise clinical protocols, guidelines, and best practices within the clinic., • Address clinical concerns and patient complaints regarding care, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards., • Drive quality improvement projects and engage in relevant committees., • Actively participate in monthly Division/Department meetings, contributing to system-wide operational strategies.Operational Management:, • Oversee the daily operations of the clinic to ensure efficiency and effectiveness., • Work alongside the Practice Administrator on scheduling, patient flow, resource management, and facility oversight., • Track key operational metrics, such as access to care and patient volume, and implement strategies for enhancement., • Ensure adherence to all relevant system-wide policies, procedures, and regulations., • Provide direct supervision and performance management for clinical staff., • Engage in the recruitment, onboarding, and retention of clinical personnel., • Promote a positive and supportive work atmosphere that fosters teamwork, professional growth, and staff engagement., • Address staff concerns and facilitate conflict resolution., • Monitor financial performance, including revenue cycle management and productivity., • Identify opportunities for cost savings and revenue enhancement.Strategic Planning & Growth:, • Contribute to the strategic planning efforts for the Division of General Internal Medicine and the clinic., • Identify opportunities for program development, service expansion, and community outreach., • Act as the primary clinical liaison between clinic staff, administrative leadership, and other departments within the health system., • Represent the clinic in relevant system-wide meetings and committees.Qualifications:, • Medical Doctor (MD or DO) degree from an accredited institution., • Board Certification in Internal Medicine., • Current, unrestricted medical license in New York State., • A minimum of five years of clinical experience in an outpatient primary care environment., • Previous leadership or administrative experience in a healthcare setting is highly preferred., • Proven understanding of healthcare operations, quality improvement methodologies, and financial management principles., • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities.
