Approximately 25% of new admissions per year to the NYC jail system will receive care on the mental health service. This service strives to provide safe, holistic and evidence-based therapeutic interventions for the diverse range of mental health issues that face the population, from serious mental illness to the natural struggles that accompany incarceration. The service provides some of the most comprehensive and unique treatment modalities in the country, including specialty housing units for individuals with serious mental illness, a 24-hour on-call psychiatric service, robust creative arts programming, a strong DBT training program, clinics in each of the facilities, substance use treatment, integrated re- entry services, and relationships with multiple training institutions throughout the city. Responsibilities Under the supervision of a Senior/Supervising Psychiatrist in the Mental Health Service of CHS, this position requires the provision of high quality, team-based psychiatric services including psychopharmacologic interventions, for individuals incarcerated in the New York City jail system. The mental health service strives to provide safe, holistic and evidence-based therapeutic interventions for the diverse range of mental health issues that face the population, from serious mental illness to the natural struggles that accompany incarceration. The service provides some of the most comprehensive and unique treatment modalities in the country, including specialty housing units ("mental observation units") for individuals with serious mental illness, a 24-hour on-call psychiatric service, robust creative arts programming, outpatient-level clinics in each of the facilities, substance use treatment, integrated re-entry services, and relationships with multiple training institutions throughout the city. Each of the facilities in the jail system has unique patient population and environmental characteristics; each psychiatric Physician's Assistant will be matched with the population that most closely meets their clinical expertise and desired work location and schedule. Experience working in correctional settings is not required, however the ability to work closely and effectively with multiple other disciplines, including security staff, is critical. Provide psychiatric care, including admission evaluations, follow-ups, and urgent and emergent consultations to individuals with mental health needs. • Participate in the creation of an individualized treatment plan after discussing the case with the mental health care team, collecting and reviewing psychosocial data, medical history, nursing assessment, and other pertinent information., • Evaluate patients for the need for a higher level of care, including hospitalization. If a patient is hospitalized, maintain contact with the hospital psychiatric staff to ensure continuity of care, • Provide patient education, specifically around issues related to medications and treatment adherence, and aftercare services. Approximately 25% of new admissions per year to the NYC jail system will receive care on the mental health service. This service strives to provide safe, holistic and evidence-based therapeutic interventions for the diverse range of mental health issues that face the population, from serious mental illness to the natural struggles that accompany incarceration. The service provides some of the most comprehensive and unique treatment modalities in the country, including specialty housing units for individuals with serious mental illness, a 24-hour on-call psychiatric service, robust creative arts programming, a strong DBT training program, clinics in each of the facilities, substance use treatment, integrated re- entry services, and relationships with multiple training institutions throughout the city. Responsibilities Patient Care Associates (PCAs) work under the direction of a licensed nurse or other medical staff to provide patients with care and support. Responsibilities The Front Desk Specialist is an integral part of the Administration support staff personnel and is responsible for all aspects of administrative support and for providing general assistance to visitors and staff in the office. • Greet all visitors and employees, • Providing excellent customer service to all PAGNY employees, • Interact with clients, co-workers and the general public in a professional and effective manner, • Maintains conference rooms calendars and prioritizes meeting requests and travel logistics, • Answers telephones, screens and direct calls, • Prepares and submits complete and accurate invoices and expense reports, • Prepares correspondence and documents, • Reception and sorting of mail and deliveries, • Monitors and maintains office equipment and office supplies, • Assists with scheduling meetings, conference calls, catering requests, etc., • Tidy and maintain conference rooms, reception area and pantries, • Provide general administrative and clerical support, • Proactive and able to work independently, • Provide coverage as needed for other support staff members, • 5 days in office Qualifications • Associates Degree required, • Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook), • Minimum 1-3 years in a similar role, • Attention and detail orientated, • Customer service experience, • Works well under pressure, • Ability to prioritize tasks, • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Benefits include: • Annual Salary range - $45,000.00-$55,000.00, • 10% 401K company contribution after one year of service, with 3% company contribution starting day one, • Choice of a three-tiered, very low cost medical plans, • Excellent dental insurance, including orthodontics coverage, • Generous paid time off program Physician Affiliate Group of New York, P.C.
