Job Description Job Title: Slip Sheet Operator Job Description This role operates slip sheet forklifts and other powered industrial trucks to safely pick, move, and store products within narrow aisle racking systems in a large distribution environment. The Slip Sheet Operator ensures accurate inventory handling, supports shipping and receiving activities, and maintains a clean, organized, and safety-focused warehouse. Responsibilities • Operate slip sheet forklifts to pick, move, and store products in narrow aisle racking systems., • Safely maneuver forklifts and related equipment in tight spaces while maintaining load stability., • Retrieve and place pallets at varying heights, including high-level racking positions., • Use turret trucks, stand-up forklifts, and electric pallet jacks to support warehouse operations as needed., • Perform daily equipment inspections, identify issues, and promptly report maintenance needs., • Follow all warehouse safety protocols and comply with OSHA standards and site-specific procedures., • Accurately scan, label, and record inventory movements using warehouse management systems (WMS) and RF scan guns., • Assist with cycle counts, stock replenishment, and put-away activities to maintain accurate inventory levels., • Support order picking and shipping and receiving functions to ensure timely processing of customer orders., • Collaborate with warehouse staff and supervisors to meet productivity and accuracy goals., • Maintain a clean, orderly, and hazard-free work area, including assigned aisles and equipment zones. Essential Skills • Proven ability to operate slip sheet forklifts in a warehouse or distribution environment., • Experience working in narrow aisle racking systems and handling pallets at varying heights., • Ability to operate turret trucks and stand-up forklifts safely and efficiently., • Proficiency using RF scanners and RF scan guns for picking, put-away, and inventory tracking., • Hands-on experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) for scanning, labeling, and recording inventory movements., • Experience in shipping and receiving, including loading, unloading, and staging products., • Experience with warehouse picking, put-away, and stock replenishment processes., • Ability to safely lift and move items weighing up to 50 lbs on a regular basis., • Strong awareness of warehouse safety protocols and commitment to following OSHA standards., • Attention to detail and accuracy when handling inventory and documenting movements. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Previous experience operating electric pallet jacks in a distribution or warehouse setting., • Familiarity with cycle counting and basic inventory control practices., • Comfort working with narrow aisles and high racking in a fast-paced distribution environment., • Strong teamwork and communication skills to coordinate with warehouse staff and supervisors., • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and support different warehouse functions as needed. You will work in narrow aisle racking systems and at varying heights, handling pallets and products throughout the facility. The environment emphasizes strict adherence to safety protocols and OSHA standards, with routine equipment inspections and organized work areas. Typical warehouse attire and appropriate safety gear are required to perform the job safely and effectively. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Edison, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
